"Why does my job application keep failing?" (most job seekers ask me this via my DM) It feels frustrating to apply for jobs with no feedback, experiencing that sensation of your dream job slipping away. Most of the causes of job application failures are avoidable, and that's why I collaborated with the amazing Fortune Gabriel (Your Job Prep Guru🧡) to put together this carousel. The key to success in your job search is structure To stay at the forefront, consider these tips that helped me, 👉 Establish a System - Discover an approach that works for you, whether it's an app for organizing job searches, a spreadsheet, or a special notepad - Note every relevant detail for each application, such as the job title, employer, application deadline, and any necessary follow-up steps 👉 Create Priorities - Order your applications according to application deadlines, corporate culture, and alignment with your professional goals - Prioritize and concentrate your efforts on the most promising prospects 👉 Keep yourself active - Follow up after submitting your application, an interview, or if you haven't heard back within a fair amount of time - Maintain lines of communication open and show that you are excited about the position While looking for a job can be an emotional rollercoaster You'll be able to move clearly through your process only if you maintain focus #jobsearchtips #stayorganized #careers

5 problems I hear from job seekers every day: 1) "I haven't got a clue where/how to get started." 2) "I'm not getting any feedback on my resume." 3) "My network seems inactive and unhelpful." 4) "Recruiters are overlooking my LinkedIn." 5) "I struggle to engage with my peers." The 5 biggest time-wasters when you want to make a career move: 1.   Revising your resume for every job. Instead: Target your job search 2.   Scrolling through LinkedIn without a specific goal.  Instead: choose one of these - make 5 strategic connections, 9 comments on posts, research 2 target companies 3.   Relying on only one of your assets to do all the work. Each of your assets (resume, network, interview skills, thought leadership) plays a part. Instead: look critically at each asset and develop the weak ones. 4.   Collecting information from random people. At some point, the information will conflict and you’ll feel frustrated.  Instead: find a couple of people you trust and who have the experience to validate their POV 5.   Networking calls without a specific request.  Instead: don’t ask for someone’s time until you know what you are comfortable asking of them.   P.S. on # 5 – in my experience, people are happy to help, just make it easy for them to do it. 

If you applied to a job and you haven’t heard back… It’s probably not your fault… here’s why: 1️⃣ Ghost job postings: companies often post jobs with no intention of hiring 2️⃣ Internal candidates: companies often prefer to hire internal candidates 3️⃣ Forced job posting: some companies are forced to share job openings publicly when they already know who they want to hire (usually an internal candidate as well) Is this fair? No. Does this mean we should sit around feeling sorry for ourselves? Maybe for an hour or two… but then: No! If you are getting rejected over and over for jobs that you think you’re a great fit for… The version of you that will get past it and be successful will ask: 🔥 How can I be so good that they can’t ignore me? 🔥 That might mean: 👉 Stepping up at work so you’ve got more accomplishments 👉 Earning a certificate to elevate your status 👉 Overhauling your resume to sell yourself better 👉 Networking your butt off to meet the right people  👉 Starting a business/side hustle to gain new/useful skills DO NOT BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR DOWNFALLS (even when it is their fault) Like this post and share ♻ if you found it helpful!

Want professional growth? Stay in the problem space as opposed to the solution space. The problem space is thinking about the problems you are solving. If you don’t understand the problem then the solution may not solve it. It’s like submitting your resume to a corporation and not receiving feedback. Focusing on why you didn’t get feedback would be the problem space. If you discover how their resume tracking systems work then you could improve your chances by improving your resume.  What most people do is submit the same resume to any and all thinking that that’s the solution to getting a job. Staying in the solution space will severely limit your odds of finding a job.
