Communications Strategist | Top 10 professionals in Branding and Communications by TIBA | I help organisations design and implement effective communication strategies for internal and external stakeholders.
just a press release! Think again! 📢 Some days ago, I saw a fascinating LinkedIn post detailing the day-to-day life of a PR practitioner. Someone commented, "Oh wow, I thought all PR practitioners did was write press releases!" It made me reflect. 🤔 Press releases are often seen as boring, but they're the backbone of any communication strategy. 💼✍️ I've scripted and read countless ones, often during endless stakeholder meetings. It's a gruelling, yet exciting experience. They're the unsung heroes of corporate communication and public relations, an organization’s megaphone. 📣 With a well-crafted press release, you can launch products, manage crises, and build stakeholder trust. 🤝🌟📈 Did you know a well-executed press release can increase brand awareness by up to 70% and generate up to 50% more website traffic? 🤯 Next time you cringe at the sight of a press release, remember that writing a good one is hard work. 😓 It's like trying to fit a whole story into a tiny box. 📦 But it's worth it. Trust me. If you're crafting one now, keep fighting the good fight. 💪 Your work matters more than you think. Keep leveraging this powerful tool to elevate your organization. Your future self will thank you! 🌠 Tell me in the comments: Why do you hate press releases? 📝

On the blog today, Tanya Murali Dharan is sharing her insights on how to navigate the PR world as an emerging practitioner. "Picture this: You're knee-deep in tasks, drowning in deadlines, and the pressure is mounting like a volcano ready to erupt. In these moments, your voice is your most potent weapon. Don't shy away from speaking up for yourself. Effective communication is key, whether it's negotiating workload, setting boundaries, or seeking clarity. Opt for open conversations and constructive dialogue instead of simply uttering a flat 'no' when overwhelmed. Express your willingness to help while diplomatically highlighting your current commitments. Offer solutions rather than just pointing out problems. Remember, assertiveness, not aggression, is the name of the game." "What do you do?" I usually get asked this by my parents... but increasingly I'm being asked this so I guess I better tell you. I do a number of things, but I'll start sharing elements one by one. First up. Corporate PR. What is Corporate PR asks the balding gentleman at the back? (*sorry I always remember David Dimbleby saying this at an event and I snorted a bit too loud). Corporate PR is generally communication aimed at stakeholders, investors, and other businesses. It involves creating engaging news and content (in the media but increasingly through reports, linkedin and blogs) to improve your credibility, tell your story and invite engagement / strengthen relationships with customers, your team and externally. An element is crisis communications aka being that third-party support to help you navigate a problem, so I've worked with clients who've had internal team disagreements leading to 'change', emergencies from floods to fires, or where something has gone wrong - so project managing the fall out and media relations. I've worked with a plethora of businesses, I'm a safe pair of hands, I don't get flustered and I'm a natural problem solver (*Cringe - but look you can ask people). I understand the social landscape well, I can help you navigate it - for good - whilst understanding the challenges of business. I believe you can do both. Let's have a chat! #communications #pr #publicrelations #corporatepr

One of the most underrated skills in PR? The art of charming and negotiating your way to get the job done. Whether it's wooing a journalist with a pitch, sealing a partnership for a brand, or renewing that all-important retainer contract—an exceptional PR professional knows how to navigate it all. However, charm alone won't cut it without substance and a compelling story. That said, charm is your best ally in this field, especially when you're facing the inevitable roadblocks that pop up like unwelcome guests at a party. Let's face it, a lot of what we do is beyond our control, but that doesn't mean we throw in the towel. Instead, we persist, problem-solve, and maybe even flash a winning smile or two to overcome the hurdles. For anyone thinking of diving into PR, here's the reality: if you're low on patience or tact, this might not be your playground. We PR folks are natural problem solvers, and without that knack, you might find yourself in deep water. But if you can charm your way out of a tight spot and keep your cool while doing it, you might just be cut out for this wild, wonderful ride. At GOOD DAY PR & Strategic Communications FZ LLC, we bring this blend of charm, strategic insight, and problem-solving to every project. Whether you need expert media relations, strategic partnerships, crisis management, or corporate reputation building, we’ve got you covered. Our global expertise allows us to navigate complex communications challenges with finesse, ensuring your message resonates and your goals are met. #PR #StrategicComms #GoodDayPR
