Want to see more engagement in your online meetings? No one wants to talk into the void on an online call. Everything in remote work is more intentional than when we work in person. Engagement in meetings is no different. Giving opportunities for meaningful engagement and responses is vital to make the most of online meetings. Using a platform that allows you to do this and monitor what is working to increase engagement is the foundation of this. True Collaboration Happens Beyond the Screen—Especially When Creating Something New Mayor part of my work involves online calls—updates, support, and exchanging ideas with sales colleagues from across the globe. Virtual meetings are incredibly efficient, but sometimes, something key gets lost when we only meet online. This became especially clear to me during a project I led this year with a working group from six countries. In the first half of the year, we held two in-person workshops. The results? Motivation was high, and we developed a clear shared vision. These face-to-face meetings were particularly valuable because we were tackling new challenges that required brainstorming and creative exchange. After the summer, when in-person meetings were no longer possible, the dynamic changed. Despite regular virtual meetings, the group lost momentum, and the depth of collaboration just wasn’t the same. This shows me how unique and irreplaceable in-person meetings are—especially when working on new ideas. How do you balance in-person and virtual collaboration in your teams? #Collaboration #VirtualWork #GlobalTeams

Teams/Zoom meetings will never replace the value of in-person, human to human interactions. Don't get me wrong, virtual meetings have their place for reoccurring discussions with team members/customers when logistics simply can't accommodate. In a way, it has actually increased a level of human to human interaction by replacing what use to be a conference call with a Teams video call. But put it up against being in the same room with someone, reading their full body language, tone and demeanor, not to mention the opportunities and breakthroughs that occur, someone walking down the hall that decides to stop in and say hi, then ends up staying for the whole meeting and creates more opportunities... there's absolutely no contest between the two. Both are needed, both have value..but one is clearly better. Excited to hit the road/air and meet some awesome Momentum customers.

With virtual and hybrid working arrangements becoming the norm, virtual meetings have become a major part of how teams collaborate. These kinds of meetings face inherent engagement challenges with attendees in different locations, so clear communication and interactivity are key! Here are some ideas to make virtual meetings more impactful: – Start with a clear agenda and set expectations for participation. – Use tools like polls and Q&A sessions to keep everyone involved. – Encourage feedback through anonymous surveys and utilize virtual whiteboards for collaborative brainstorming. – Breakout rooms can foster small group discussions, and incorporating multimedia elements like videos can make sessions more dynamic. – Regularly update everyone with key takeaways to ensure transparency and inclusivity. #VirtualMeetings #EmployeeEngagement #InteractiveTech #RemoteWork #Productivity #Communication #WorkplaceCulture #Teamwork #Transparency #DigitalTools

Recent data from Microsoft shows that hybrid/remote workers spend more than 50% of their time in meetings. (This is on average - as a rule the more senior you are, the more time you spend in meetings) Cue predictable responses about how to cut the number of meetings you have and what a waste of time they are and how we could all be getting much more work done without them. Which I find really annoying and short sighted. For most of us, collaboration is essential to getting our job done. Yes, there are many ways meetings can be made more efficient and productive. But they are essential. #hybridworking #collaboration #meetings
