🚀Separate your company from the pack🚀 Build the right company culture from the start to attract, develop, and keep top talent. Culture affects how employees feel about their jobs and how they get along with each other. People who feel valued are more engaged, committed to the mission, and happier at home. Culture is the unique set of values, beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, and practices. It’s only as good as the leaders and influencers that champion healthy interactions. This happens day-to-day through communication, collaboration, reward, and conflict resolution. 🧠𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧'𝐬 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 To understand your company’s organizational values, ask yourself these questions: What do we stand for? How do we treat our customers? Do we make decisions based on facts or emotions? Are we open to new ideas? Do we encourage innovation? Do we reward people for doing good work? Do we take care of our employees? Do we provide opportunities for advancement? If not to any question above, why not? 🧠𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 Always stay transparent about how your organization operates. This means getting clear about your policies and procedures. Then, communicating them clearly to everyone who works at your company. Remember, people look at leaders to understand the mix of practice and policy. Practice: Represents how work gets done between employees, team members, departments, and the company. It not only day-to-day operations, but the behaviors that drive innovation. Policy: It covers the playbook of work. It covers how behavior gets rewarded, celebrated, acknowledged, and lays out clear consequences when company values get violated. 🧠𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 Want people to feel valued and respected? Then you need to communicate clear expectations. Make sure your people understand your expectations and why. Open and transparent communication is a must. Vague, open-ended, or unrealistic expectations set up employees for failure. As organizational leaders, do the following: Define roles and responsibilities. Establish clear and attainable metrics. Provide support, guidance, and consistent feedback along the way. It increases your people’s success. The key is to build ownership with a direct understanding of individual contribution. From there, connect it to team success in support of achieving company goals. Do these things right and your operational execution compounds towards company success. 👋I’m Humberto Garcia, Change Management Expert, Strategist & Founder of Ethos Consultancy. 🚀Showing companies the power of Change Management to build laser focused strategy, effective operational culture, and people management with an Ops lens. ✨Companies work with me to create transformational change for a clear path to sustainable growth.
