Did you miss the big news? 📰 👀 Hear from CEO Micah Remley as he dives into why Robin created the first-ever tool to measure in-person office collaboration. The bottom line is that people go into the office for productive and purposeful collaboration... but how do you know if the workplace achieves this goal? Enter: The Workplace Collaboration Score ✨ #workplacecollaborationscore #workplacetechnology #futureofwork
Introducing: The First Ever Tool to Measure In-Person Office Collaboration When we ask our customers at Robin why they have an office, the majority of answers involve one word: Collaboration. With the return-to-office debate still dominating headlines, it has struck me how few organizations look at the data and science of collaboration and instead make decisions based on opinions, thoughts, and feelings. We looked deeply into the empirical research on collaboration, used big data analytics to comb through our database of 700 million office interaction points, and developed a tool that anyone can use to apply the science of collaboration to see whether their office is actually achieving its core purpose. By using collaboration as your goal, you can go beyond the question “Are people using the office?” and instead answer the question “Are people using the office for the collaborative work that can't be done at home?" Our research shows that 25% of people go into offices and sit alone. That means a quarter of people using the office might as well be working from home. Even more interesting? 53% of meeting rooms are used for solo meetings - meaning over half of the meetings that are done in the office could have just as easily been done at home. No wonder employees don’t want to return to offices. It's time to shape the future of the workplace. Robin sees a future filled with productive, purposeful days in the office and focused flexible work-from-home days. See how collaborative your office is today using Robin’s Workplace Collaboration Score. In a matter of minutes, you can see how your workplace stacks up against other offices. What do you do if your remote team needs help collaborating virtually? When a remote team struggles with collaboration, addressing communication barriers is crucial. First, choose the right tools. Software like Slack for messaging and Trello for task management can streamline workflows. However, tools alone aren't enough. Establishing clear communication protocols is essential. Regular video meetings can foster a sense of connection and ensure alignment. Additionally, creating a shared online workspace can help maintain a 'virtual office' environment. If issues persist, consider a workshop on effective virtual communication to refine skills and strategies. Remember, the goal is to ensure every team member feels included and valued in the virtual workspace
