Meet Alyssa Shriber, she is an entry-level carpenter and a recent SkillsUSA National Signing Day signer. Alyssa's journey into the skilled trades was sparked by her experiences building a pool deck with her father and learning construction basics from her godparents. Enrolling in the Construction Trades program at Indian Valley Vocational Center IVVC, Alyssa discovered her strong passion for building. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! SkillsUSA and Career and Technical Education can help close the gap by focusing on accessibility in the classroom and actively engaging students with disabilities. Currently, only one-third of adults aged 16-64 with disabilities are employed, compared to 75% of those without disabilities. Inclusive hiring = strong workforce 💪 #NDEAM #SkillsUSA
