It is a fantastic annotation kit. Sam Choi introduced me to it, and I'm trying to get it adopted by our design team. We had been working on our own, but I think we can take this one and expand on it to include some of the small things it's missing that we need for our design system. It's nicely done. For those who aren't aware, an accessibility annotation kit allows designers and accessibility professionals to add "notes," "hints," and "tips," as it were, to Figma designs to better explain what's expected to the developer. e.g. this thing that looks like a list should be coded as an unordered list; or this thing that looks like an H3 visually should really be an H2 because of where it is in the content. These are very helpful, especially when designs can be confusing with how things are named.

I had the opportunity to brush up on my website accessibility skills last week with a remote workshop presented by Maigen Thomas! As designers, we should always try to create inclusive and accessible solutions even if it may take a little more effort. What are we fighting for if not for the user experience of all users? #WebsiteAccessibility #InclusiveSolutions #ContinuousLearning

So how should you be designing for Digital Accessibility? In the same way you design anything good: discover who your users are and their needs, understand good design principles and test your ideas with real people. #DigitalAccessibility #WebUsability @lucycollins Designing for Accessibility https://hubs.ly/Q02FN_qq0

Question for service design contacts - Has anyone come across a "Design System" or something similar for non-digital services? I'm wondering how to go about creating basically a list of practical design features for creating accessible and inclusive community services. I've heard about "design systems" in UI being a way to create a consistent visual experience by listing standard components and elements that work so people don't keep reinventing the wheel. I know there are really good ones out there for creating accessible and inclusive digital services. And I sort of want to create something similar for non-digital services - like health services, support groups, things like that. I'm currently compiling lots of tips from lots of different sources, and I want to be able to share that research in a way that's easy to use. Does something like that already exist? Or does anyone have any thoughts on how to make that work? #ServiceDesign #DesignSystems #Accessibility #A11y #HealthAndCare #EDI
