What Elevates Us In Life is Not What We Receive, But What We Give. Gain Dignity, by Contributing. PLease click the link to watch the video! https://lnkd.in/gZSre7GJ What Elevates Us In Life is Not What We Receive, But What We Give, Rabbi Sacks would say. And Zig Ziglar would say that when you give a man a dole you deny him his dignity. And when you deny him his dignity, you rob him of his destiny. We attain dignity by the process of giving, contributing, not by receiving. The People of Israel witnessed countless miracles towards the end of their bondage in Egypt, and then continued to witness miracles after their liberation, and yet they complained and fought. More miracles, more complaining. Why? It has to do with being dependent, a recipient, a receiver, rather than a contributor, a giver. Only when they contributed, for the construction of The Tabernacle, for a purpose, did they elevate themselves and what they were contributing to. Only then, did the complaining and fighting cease. Only then, did they exercise their freedom, as a free nation. We don’t have the tabernacle any longer, but more important, is what we learn about what can occur during the process of contribution. "अहिंसा परम धर्म" It’s time to ask: Can we afford to ignore the power of nonviolence in today’s world? As we look around today, the world is struggling with conflicts, wars, and their far-reaching impacts. Not only do these wars cause suffering and destruction, but they also have a deep effect on global economies—raising prices, disrupting supply chains, and pushing millions into uncertainty. In these difficult times, the message of "Nonviolence is the Supreme Duty" feels more important than ever. Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings give us powerful tools to navigate this chaos. His five core principles—Nonviolence (Ahinsa), Truth (Satya), Welfare for All (Sarvodaya), Self-Reliance (Swadeshi) —are not just moral values but practical guides to bring peace and stability. Here’s how these principles can help the world today: 1. अहिंसा (Nonviolence) Gandhi’s belief in nonviolence teaches us that true power comes from peace, not war. Today’s conflicts hurt not just people but also global economies, causing inflation and instability. Imagine if countries embraced peaceful dialogue instead of violence—resources could be used for healthcare, education, and development instead of destruction. Peace brings prosperity. 2. सत्य (Truth) In an era where misinformation can escalate conflicts, Gandhi’s principle of truth is vital. Truthful and transparent policies, whether in business or diplomacy, build trust. By making decisions rooted in honesty, governments and companies can create a more stable and predictable global environment, fostering economic growth and cooperation. 3. सर्वोदय (Welfare of All) Gandhi believed that real progress uplifts everyone. Today, wars are increasing poverty and inequality, with those in the conflict zones suffering the most. Economic policies that prioritize the welfare of all—not just the rich—can help build a more balanced world where every person has the chance to succeed. By caring for the most vulnerable, we create a stronger society. 4.स्वदेशी (Self-Reliance) With global supply chains disrupted due to conflicts, Gandhi’s idea of self-reliance is more relevant than ever. Encouraging local industries and promoting sustainable, local solutions can protect economies from global shocks. Supporting local businesses reduces dependency on war-torn regions and builds resilient economies that are better equipped to handle crises. This Independence Day, we capture the essence of freedom through the lens of our nation’s diverse communities. Freedom isn’t just about looking back at our history; it’s about recognizing and celebrating the everyday stories that continue to shape our present and future. The true essence of freedom lies in the ability to express, to be heard, and to tell the stories that matter — stories that our dedicated Kathakars bring to life with authenticity and passion. Recanteur is committed to ensuring that every community, regardless of its location or challenges, has the opportunity to share its voice. We work closely with local storytellers, known as Kathakars, who are deeply connected to their land and people, equipping them with the tools to capture and document the real, raw experiences of their communities. These are the stories of resilience, cultures thriving despite challenges, and voices that make a difference. Let us remember that the spirit of freedom is not just a relic of the past but a living, breathing force that flows through every story shared by our communities. By empowering communities to tell their own stories, we not only honor their experiences but also contribute to a richer, more inclusive narrative of what it means to be free. Happy Independence Day 2024 from Recanteur . Together, we can keep the spirit of freedom alive, embracing the power of storytelling to inspire, connect, and drive change. . . . . #FreedomThroughTheLens #Recanteur #IndependenceDay2024 #CommunityVoices #Storytelling #Kathakars #IndianIndependence #EmpoweringCommunities #VoicesOfIndia #SocialImpact #AuthenticStories #InspiringChange

We must see this video related sc /st reservation "On August 1, 2024, the Supreme Court of India ruled 6–1 that states can sub-classify Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) to provide more preferential treatment to the most backward communities within these groups. The ruling, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, overturned the 2004 decision in E V Chinnaiah v State of Andhra Pradesh, which held that the SC/ST list was a "homogenous group" that could not be divided further. The new ruling allows states to create sub-classifications within the SCs and STs to ensure that the benefits of reservation reach the most marginalized segments of these communities. This could include provisions for a "creamy layer" criteria within the SCs and STs to allocate quotas in government jobs and educational institutions, excluding affluent individuals or families from the benefits of reservation. " The ruling had six separate opinions, with five in favor of sub-classification and one dissent by Justice Bela Trivedi. Some say that sub-classification could dilute the effectiveness of affirmative action by shifting the focus from addressing broader social injustices to intra-community disparities. Others say that sub-classification could foster resentment and competition between different subgroups, further marginalizing those who may already be disadvantaged. Some leaders like Chandrashekhar consider him the messiah of Dalits "Leaders like Chandrashekhar will tell us whether we should do Bharat Bandh or not. He does not know how much economic effect it makes when Bharat Bandh happens. I request every indian people "First understand the meaning of reservation, whoever needs it and who is poor, he deserves reservation" https://bz.dhunt.in/WdA0e

Fracturing of Families and Societies is a Consequence of Losing Our Roots from our ancestral wisdom. Bharat, once renowned for its close-knit family structures and strong village communities, is witnessing a significant shift. The traditional values that once served as the bedrock of rural life are fading, giving rise to fractured families and weakening social ties. This shift is not just a generational change but a deviation from a value system that once harmonized society. To understand today’s challenges, we must revisit the pillars of that older system. The Glue of Society and Family Life Historically, villages in Bharat were held together by values deeply rooted in respect, duty, and collectivism. Values such as respect for elders, joint decision-making, interdependence, and collective responsibility were not just words; they were lived experiences. This value system reinforced family unity and fostered a sense of belonging and shared purpose within villages. Elders were seen as wise custodians, guiding the families and society on principles of Dharma. Western culture places a strong emphasis on individualism, which is in stark contrast to the collectivist approach of traditional Indian society. This shift towards individualism has led to a decline in family values, with individuals prioritizing their personal goals and aspirations over family responsibilities. The fracturing of families and societies in Bharat is evident in the changing dynamics of family relationships. The traditional respect for elders is dwindling, with younger generations becoming more assertive and independent. The role of women in the family is also undergoing a significant transformation, with more women pursuing careers and seeking independence. The shift away from traditional values and practices is leading to a loss of cultural heritage and identity. The emphasis on individualism and personal goals is leading to increased stress and anxiety, as individuals struggle to balance their personal and family responsibilities. It is leading to a decline in social cohesion, with individuals becoming more isolated and disconnected from their communities. There are increased rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. #bharat #civilisation #families #socities #harmony #love #tradition #westernculture #roots #respect https://lnkd.in/dEp5Guhc
