Attention all South African employers! The deadline for submitting your Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) is approaching. By the end of April, all employers registered with SARS and with an annual payroll of R500 000 or more, must submit their WSPs to their relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). The WSP is a crucial tool for organisations to develop the skills and knowledge of their employees. It should include an analysis of the organisation's current and future skills requirements, as well as a plan for addressing any skills gaps that may exist. The plan should also outline the training and development programs that will be implemented to address the identified skills gaps. In addition to the WSP, employers must submit a Mandatory Grant Application (MGA) to the SETA. The MGA requests funding to support implementing the training and development programs outlined in the WSP. Submitting your WSP and MGA on time is essential, as failure to do so may result in penalties or the loss of grant funding. So, if you still need to, start working on your WSP and MGA now to ensure you meet the April deadline. By submitting these documents on time and implementing appropriate training and development programs, you can develop the skills of your workforce, improve productivity and competitiveness, and contribute to the development of the country's human capital. At Skills Branch, we understand the importance of skills development and are here to help you with your WSP and MGA submissions. Contact us today to learn how we can support your organisation's skills development needs. #HRCompliance #LaborLaws #SkillsDevelopment #SkillsBranch #SkillsWarrior #EmployeeDevelopment #TrainingAndDevelopment #WorkPlaceSkillsPlan #WSPDeadline See less

This article provides valuable insights into leveraging Key Performance Indicators (#KPIs) to drive behavior and enhance #OrganizationalPerformance, particularly in the context of #Safety initiatives. It highlights the importance of balancing leading and lagging indicators to incentivize desired actions effectively. Integrating KPIs into a comprehensive #PerformanceManagement system is crucial for aligning organizational goals and #behaviors.
A few years back we were asked by a client for advice on their plans to introduce a new variable compensation system that relates to #SafetyPerformance. The previous bonus system was only connected to their #LostTimeInjuries (#LTI) performance. The company realised it needed to use a balanced mix of leading and lagging indicators. The new draft system that we were able to review included a combination of both. Find more details here: https://lnkd.in/dJD_gz-c #KPIs #SafetyCulture
