A fascinating discussion about digital tools in education with insightful contributions from staff and students. Thanks for including me!
Today I had the great honour of speaking as a panellist for a session titled "developing digital skills in an academic context" 💻 This session was part of our Aston Student Experience Conference which was a very fruitful day of discussion and ideas 💡 It was great to be included on this panel with legends like Alister Black (Adobe), Adam Basdogan, Adriana Braje, Gurpreet Chaggar, and Ellen Pope 👏 Thanks too to Chris Umfreville for the invitation to speak. As a quick summary of my points, I generally advocate for: promoting safe spaces to make mistakes, teaching crucial transferable skills like critical reasoning, embedding of digital skill opportunities within the curriculum, and support for staff who want to embed or support use of digital technologies ✨️ (Also I'm a huge geek when it comes to Adobe Illustrator, Matlab, Excel, and PowerPoint 🤩) Bonus thanks to Maana Aujla for the cool snap 📸

It is essential for technologists to teach their students about digital citizenship before they get started and are introduced to technology. It is also essential for them to understand the impact and footprint that technology can leave. It will also help to prevent them from making mistakes. It is important to learn about social justice, education, and technology because they allow for the assessment and learning of equal opportunities for students. With the help of this organization, we are able to create better learning environments and standards for students. After taking this course, I would have to say that I was introduced to more websites that can enhance my abilities as a teacher. For example, with Canva, I was able to create fun posters and videos that were fun and interactive for students. Not to mention, I learned how to create a whole online course. It has definitely changed my mind about incorporating it into my future classroom because I was not good at using technology before, and my understanding has significantly grown. 🙂 #EDLT3110_SU24_R7

🌟 Celebrating the Bright Minds of Tomorrow on Children's Day! 🌈✨ Happy Children's Day to all the young minds shaping our future! 🎉 On this special occasion, let's take a moment to reflect on the incredible potential and creativity that children bring into our lives. In the realm of digital marketing, we're constantly inspired by the fresh perspectives and innate curiosity of the younger generation. As we celebrate the spirit of childhood, let's draw parallels between the lessons we can learn from children and the dynamic world of digital marketing: 1️⃣ Curiosity is Key: Children are natural explorers, always asking "why" and seeking to understand the world around them. In digital marketing, curiosity fuels innovation. Embrace a curious mindset, ask questions, and stay eager to explore new trends and technologies. 2️⃣ Unleash Creativity: Children possess boundless creativity. In the digital marketing landscape, creativity is a powerful tool. Don't be afraid to think outside the box, experiment with unique ideas, and craft compelling content that resonates with your audience. 3️⃣ Adaptability Matters: Children quickly adapt to new environments and challenges. Similarly, in the fast-paced world of digital marketing, adaptability is crucial. Stay nimble, be open to change, and adjust your strategies based on evolving trends and consumer behaviors. 4️⃣ Building Authentic Connections: Children are genuine in their interactions. Digital marketing success is often rooted in building authentic connections with your audience. Be transparent, engage authentically, and create content that genuinely connects with your target audience. 5️⃣ Learning Never Ends: Children are constant learners. The digital marketing landscape is dynamic, requiring a commitment to continuous learning. Stay informed about industry trends, attend webinars, and invest in your professional development to stay ahead in the game. Let's celebrate the spirit of Children's Day by embracing the qualities that make children extraordinary. As digital marketers, let's channel our inner child, fostering curiosity, creativity, adaptability, authenticity, and a love for learning. Here's to a future shaped by the bright minds of today! 🚀👧👦 #ChildrensDay #DigitalMarketing #Innovation #Creativity #Curiosity #FutureLeaders
