The energy, enthusiasm, and enterprise are palpable everwhere — from the newsroom, the Production Control Room, Outdoor Broadcast, Field Reporting, and the backroom.   Did you tune into the ITV election debate? According to BARB, last night’s general election debate was watched by 4.8 million people, a big drop compared to the debate in 2019. However, do you know who tuned in for it? Looking at our single-source data, we can see that Daily Mail readers did! When we reviewed the data this morning, out of the people that regularly read a newspaper on their phone and tuned in for the debate last, nearly 70% of their general usage is on the Daily Mail! This is staggeringly high, given that it’s not even the most popular newspaper online.   We don’t want to offer an opinion on who won the debate and why it was watched mainly by Daily Mail readers, but would love to hear your thoughts on this in the comments... Solomon Islands: Newsrooms equipped and ready for 2024 Election 🎤 📻 📺 📲 📰 The training sessions emphasized the importance of adopting an audience-centric approach to election reporting. Topics covered included the multifaceted roles of the media during elections, such as serving as educators, providing platforms for public forums, and watchdogs. These roles were discussed in the context of the pre-election period, election day itself, and the post-election phase including result announcements and coalition negotiations.

Media bias is really difficult to prove. Okay, so this news story/article/debate was biased in X direction but another one was biased in Y direction. Together the media give voice to everybody over time, right? So what’s the big deal? Proving bias requires controlling all variables, which is impossible. Moreover, subtle bias is much more difficult to pinpoint than mere slanting. As elections are looming in both America and Canada, news media of all genres, are vying for our viewership...At all costs, sparing no blows, and in general, lacking any sense of integrity Let's be honest! No one is perfect...not Politicians and certainly not journalists To Politicians: Please stick to your platform and inform voters on the direction you plan to lead your country, should you get elected To the various media: Please report all the news with Integrity... Refrain from any biases... You are not the news... You are the messengers! To the voters: Do your own research on the candidates Do not believe all the noise out there No one is perfect!
