Without a doubt, the last two years have proven that we all live in disaster prone areas. We've witnessed a series of cyclones, floods due to worn out environments and most recently water rising in all our lakes and rivers. The beaches aren't exciting at this point. It is for this reason we have to take into deep consideration the responsibility we have in regards to environmental preservation through various activities like awareness campaigs, planting trees, clean-ups, waste management and most importantly, adhering to laws and regulations. With the aim of achieving the Sustainable development goals, Greencare advocates for environmental conservation through the provision of waste management services and waste recovery practices. Our strategies are aligning to the circular economy. We're for Cleaner Communities, Greener Future! Sustainability is embedded in the design of Eddington and we embrace innovative measures that encourage sustainable living. Our water management measures include rain gardens, blue and green roofs, and swales to prevent against flooding and we also have a rain water harvesting system. As part of the future phases of the development, we will continue to use the best practices in rain water harvesting to support our target potable water use of 80 l/p/d. Water scarcity is an important issue in Cambridge, and we are working hard with water companies and local authorities to mitigate the impact of development on our natural resources. #waterconservation #UniversityofCambridge #sustainability https://ow.ly/9xk950UnyeB
