🎉 What a delight to see Europe back in the race with the Ariane 6 launch yesterday ! Finally, Europe can go back into space ! 🎉 🚀 🛰 👨🚀 We are living an exciting moment for European Space where the "Primes" are challenged by New Space actors and need to be innovative. However, I feel a tendency to narrow the progress to technical challenges only. Don't forget that the final system will only meet success if its operability is ensured on the long term ! Humans can't be tuned by turning a button. Here are some challenges I foresee in the short term: 🔥 Increasing number of satellites to control with a lower number of operators => Need of "Super Saian" operators with AI assistants ! 🤖 Automation everywhere, impossible to understand and impossible to take over because no one has the skills to do so. 🏢 Many job opportunities for operations, leading to increase turnover and difficulties to keep in-house competencies. ⚔ Fiercy competition in the in-orbit services landscape. The ones who will survive will be the ones understanding their customers the best and providing super easy-to-use applications. 💥 Necessary SSA operations with normalized coordination and procedures for collision avoidance.
