Complexity… get used to it! For the last year I’ve been advising founder-led, enterprise SME and monolithic companies in varying ways. The smaller business is juggling resources and timing to stay afloat, the scaling company is realizing what got them here won’t get them to the next set of milestones, and the monolith is trying to make sense of the multimillion dollar software investment they’re making. Then, they get so busy weaving through the complexity that they hardly reflect on why it’s there in the first place and trying to tackle it top-down too. Sitting in one of the most candid customer testimonial talks at a tech vendor office this week, it was clear that there’s still an abundance of silos in tech projects and a real need for big picture architecture (nicely validating what I do).
