Last week, Slatt Capital's John Darrow penned a compelling feature on Deciphering the Presidential Inauguration's Impact on Commercial Real Estate. Much of that story is yet to be told of course, but much can be learned by looking back to previous administrations, in this case, Lyndon B. Johnson's, and see how his background and passions ultimately shaped his administration's policies. Read on to see how the lessons learned during the LBJ administration can offer a valuable lens to anticipate the potential impacts of President Trump’s policies on the commercial real estate market.... https://lnkd.in/gr5PRvD9

So glad to see David Leonhardt on this beat: growing bipartisan support for policies that can harness private markets for the national interest. Resonates with my personal experience talking with elected officials and staffers in both parties in Congress and in the White House this past year. There is an actionable coalition that recognizes the economy is not producing financial security for too many people, the housing crisis is real (and not just in urban districts where most people would expect it), and solutions will require activating more of the money in the vast private capital markets. When we drafted the launch announcement for Lafayette Square Institute last week we described this as an “under-reported” phenomenon—it's still under-reported if not under-the-radar, with huge implications and opportunities for funders, impact investors, and others who want to advance progress in the US in these turbulent political times. Are you seeing similar opportunities? In what other areas (energy security/climate is an obvious one). Or are we being naive to be optimistic? https://lnkd.in/eVBgm8ps

We don't usually annoy you with this stuff, but this is crucial. Here is why you should vote Yes for the AVT program on the ballot this year: Boost Our Economy: For every $1 of incentive, the Space Coast gets $33.38 in business investment. Job Creation: The program has already created 9,300 jobs, providing stable, well-paying work for our community. Increased Public Revenue: Every $1 in incentives returns $4.82 in taxes, funding vital services without burdening taxpayers. Sustainable Growth: This program supports industries that secure our future, like aerospace and technology. A "Yes" vote means more jobs, stronger local businesses, and a brighter future for Brevard County! - Cassandra Hartford, Collin MacConnell, CRE Advisor, Alexandra Komara
