This Black Business Month (and every month!), let's focus on how we can advance Black entrepreneurship and ensure the rise in Black-owned businesses continues to flourish. At Spherion, we celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and are committed to supporting and uplifting Black entrepreneurs in our community. According to Forbes, Black entrepreneurship is on the rise, with the number of Black business owners increasing by 38% post-pandemic and 17% of Black women either launching or running a new business. https://lnkd.in/ewqAv7Dg Despite this momentum, Black entrepreneurs still face significant challenges, including limited access to capital, mentorship, and strong banking relationships. To truly advance Black entrepreneurship, here are some actionable steps that can be taken: ➡️ Amplify and Elevate Spread the word about Black-owned businesses by recommending them to friends, family, and colleagues and sharing your positive experiences online. ➡️ Invest Support Black entrepreneurs by investing your time, expertise, or resources through mentorship, diversity-focused funds, or by becoming an angel investor. ➡️ Advocate for Impactful Public Policy Push for federal, state, and local policies that fund and support programs that spur entrepreneurship within the Black community, like the CDFI Fund and microlending programs. At Spherion, we believe the strength of our organization comes from our franchisees' passion for entrepreneurship. We're always eager to welcome new entrepreneurs into our community, which is why we offer a 25% discount on our franchise fee for members of SBA-recognized ethnic minority groups. When Black businesses thrive, their communities and the broader economy flourish as well. Small businesses are the lifeblood of their neighborhoods, creating jobs, giving back, and driving innovations that transform our world. Let's work together to ensure that the rise in Black entrepreneurship isn't just a trend but a lasting movement. Hats off to all the Black entrepreneurs out there—your resilience and creativity inspire us all.

As August begins, we recognize Black Business Month, a time to honor the achievements and contributions of Black entrepreneurs nationwide. As a Black woman entrepreneur, I am proud to share my reflections during this meaningful month. Being a Black woman in entrepreneurship has been both challenging and rewarding. The path to building and growing a business is filled with both obstacles and opportunities for growth, innovation, and community impact. My experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to my vision. Black Business Month is a call to action highlighting Black-owned businesses' vital role in our economy and communities. Our businesses create jobs, foster economic growth, and serve as community pillars. However, we face unique challenges, such as limited access to capital, systemic bias, and lack of visibility. Black Business Month highlights these issues and encourages support and upliftment of Black entrepreneurs. Thank you for supporting Black businesses - not just this month, but every day.
