Are you doing research on, or are you just very interested in the governance of anti-discrimination? Then please come and share your ideas and/or your work during our panel “The governance of anti-discrimination: insights into institutions, policies and networks” at the NIG Conference (6 & 7 February 2025) in Ghent. Organized with my dear colleagues from KU Leuven: Annie Hondeghem and Elien Diels
In this panel, our primary focus will therefore be on institutions, policies, and actor networks in the field of anti-discrimination governance. Anti-discrimination has re-emerged into the heart of governance at various levels, including the local level, the national level as well as the European level. Moreover, we see a clear connection between anti-discrimination governance and the rebuilding of trust in (government, political) institutions. I
We welcome papers that focus on the role of specific institutions, policies, or networks in the governance of anti-discrimination. Important is that papers have a primary focus on the governance of anti-discrimination, so that the panel contributes to making meaningful connections between the theme of anti-discrimination and the broader literatures from public administration and political science. We especially welcome papers based on recent empirical research in the Low Countries, or based on comparative data in a European context.
- Papers on the role of specific institutions in the governance of anti-discrimination such as the role of governmental bodies or anti-discrimination agencies.
- Comparative papers on anti-discrimination policies, such as comparing between national policies, as well as between local policies, or multi-level analyses.
- Papers on outcomes/effects of specific policy measures in the field of anti-discrimination.
- Papers on governance/policy networks in the field of anti-discrimination.

5moSlavo Radosevic Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to reading this. Looks very relevant for the #S3CoP work taking place now and thinking of post-2027 S3 design and reality.
