Opinion: Ban Hook-and-Loop Safety Stirrups - The Chronicle of the Horse (chronofhorse.com) Sometimes, you just have to speak up. Having personally witnessed the accidents and injuries caused by the Peacock Hook and Band "Safety" Stirrup, it is time to ban these stirrups from use in equestrian competition. While many times the upward facing hook catches on belt loops, belts and jacket when sliding down during dismount, on rare occasion the hook breaks through the pants fabric and causes ripping injuries to the child's groin. There are alternative numerous "safe" safety stirrups on the market, that in addition to proper footwear, stirrups and unlocked stirrup bar, provide protection from falling and catching a foot in the stirrup. The Peacock Hook and Band Stirrup is not one of them. The USEF is currently evaluating this issue -if you know of problems or injuries with these stirrups, let them know. These stirrups should not be allowed at USEF competitions.

#ParisOlympics has surely made a whole lot of us talking about #sports in general. That fact that folks who have never watched a 'Kushti' match in real life are now discussing #wrestling so passionately is just one example & that's the impact this Olympics has left on us, its a great thing unless we go back watching endless cricket for next 4 years!! From an active #sportswear brand point of view so much came out of Paris: Nike dominated 'again'!! 'Nike electric pack' packed the punch, a killer shoe line dropped & they marketed the hell out of it, Nike sales struggled in fiscal 2024 & Oly might just have changed the trendline for them adidas & HOKA could not capitalize & infact their own website visits actually dropped between July & Aug PUMA Group did better & went back to counting medals (#duplantis is the new #bolt.. hehe)  On onslaught couldn't sustain after starting well with #federer & #zendaya air tennis campaign, which was actually great & got so many eyeballs! Olympic Sport Brand Leaderboard Berenberg has analysed the brands worn by Olympic medal winners in athletics, basketball, tennis, and triathlon races as of the 6th of August. The findings show that Nike-sponsored athletes continue to win the most medals across both apparel and footwear categories, with adidas placing second. While Nike’s lead in footwear is undisputed, the apparel category has become increasingly more competitive, with upstarts taking share.
