Love this. Two overarching themes here: 1. If a LEO is in trouble, backup might be far away, possibly not even alerted. It’s up to civilians to intercede. 2. If something bad is taking place, we need more people like this to do the right thing. Too many people are afraid to step in and do the right thing these days. Afraid of: - repercussions - judgement - retaliation - pain and suffering - loss - even death None of these things are worth losing your dignity and honor. We should get back to a society that values honor and dignity - one that desires to do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do.

incredible, brave, heart wrenching & must watch .. but also .. let me step onto my soapbox .. Can we just please stop vilifying an entire profession? Like who is the ‘main stream media?’ Are they a monolith? Aside from the fact that if you google the key words describing the video it will come up all over the U.S. - CNN, wx channel, CBS News, Associated Press, TV station in Los Angeles.. in the U.K. as well. This is just for a quick search. It is the responsibility of all of to first - do research before posting.. But also - ‘the media’ is not all the same! Like the narrative that the police are ‘ALL … ‘ fill in a negative connotation here .. is patently FALSE (I have the honor of knowing HEROES … just ask me about them.. I will introduce you) The negative generalizations go on and on .. and serve no one .. other than politicians … talk about clickbait! Look at me .. I clicked .. and had to pipe in.. Yeah ‘main stream media’ is a popular politically - charged term. So is ‘defund the police.’ Can we just stop We - all of us - are not the same Can we allow for the fact that there are people in EVERY profession who do it for the right reasons .. whether it’s to save people because it’s their passion and calling, or to inform people, because it’s their passion and calling Can we accept that positive stories have a place in our daily lives Can we accept that negative stories are not all ‘bashing’ someone - facts are what the are. It’s either the truth or it isn’t. The Uvalde response was an object failure on many levels. Right? It’s not disputable. There are people in law enforcement who every second of every day put their lives in danger and hearts into their job because it’s their life’s work and mission. We need to and want to know their stories. There are journalists out there who believe in their mission so deeply, they work second jobs to be able to AFFORD to bring people the news. Because, with a few exceptions, journalism doesnt pay well. Sometimes not even a living wage. No one … NO ONE tells their stories .. cuz it’s not about them .. they make it about OTHERS! that’s the job.. So can we please just celebrate the wins here Focus on the trooper She’s incredible I’m so glad she got the attention for her heroism.. I hope when she has a tough day on the job, she remembers this win, saving someone else’s life! What a gift it is to know that people like her exist.
