That's a wrap for this summer's Intern/E&P Connection Mixer events! We are prepping to bring back out Topic Series Events!! Here are a few key takeaways from this summer: - Bright Future: We met many bright young students ready to take on challenges, tackle fieldwork, solve problems, and wear many hats as they enter the workforce. - Company Presence: Companies should reevaluate their presence at schools. Focus on what's impactful, build relationships with schools and students, and provide more opportunities for industry exposure. - University Visits: Don't just settle for an hour-long company advertisement. Offer more substance and discussions that highlight the industry and various career paths. - Connecting with Interns: Our industry needs to improve efforts in connecting with the next generation and making them feel welcome. Even interns can feel isolated, and we need to address that. - Dinner Discussions: The dinners in Houston and OKC were the highlights. Extending our events to include dinner with interns allowed us to share invaluable stories, insights, and takeaways. Today is #NationalInternDay & in honor of that, we wanted to shout our three amazing summer interns: Juliette Michaels, Trek Salzer & Haydn Sage! We asked them what being an intern at Nautilus Solar means to them & what their future #career goals are. Let's hear from them: Juliette: "I’m so grateful to be spending my summer as a small part of a great team that has gone out of their way to make me feel included and supported. I’m constantly inspired by the people around me, and their commitment to making a measurable difference in the world. I’m very interested in the intersectionality of community solar as an industry; driving growth in #sustainability and financial accessibility efforts. I know that supporting a mission I believe in is a priority for me as I move forward in my career." Trek: "As an intern at Nautilus, I get to be part of an *energetic* (pun intended) group of people working hard to make #solar energy accessible for people across the country. Going forward, I am looking to build a career in the renewable energy industry and I want to contribute to the continued global energy transition." Haydn: "Being an intern at Nautilus this summer has allowed me to gain a deeper and more nuanced understanding of renewable energy. I am learning something new every day through the knowledge team and this experience has only deepened my passion for sustainability and renewable energy. After graduation I plan to pursue law school and I am particularly interested in environmental and patent law." Thanks, interns, for all your hard work and dedication.

I am thrilled to share that I have successfully completed a rewarding 4-week internship in Energy conservation and Management at Internship Studio. During this internship period I learn how energy audit is done in industries and management. Each year at Chemsolv, like all other places I have worked, I get the privilege to host and groom students on internship. My goal ìs and has always been to prepare them for the world of work. Give the interns an edge and help them discover that which they have inside. That gift of uniqueness, character and the strive for excellence. The training, usually tailored, intuitive and interactive challenges their thinking and problem solving skills, teamwork and versatility in the upstream oil and Gas /petroleum industry. A lot of the time, I pull parts and pieces, disguise them in a cunning array of sequels and then leave them to create, resolve, innovate or mould that which is unseen. Its interesting how they discover the tools hidden before their very own senses of perspectives - bringing innovation to the fore. Amazing things happen and this is why we do the things we do. One of these interns wrote me a pretty letter below.

"Grateful for the enriching 6-week internship journey at L&T Energy Hydrocarbon, where I delved into the intricacies of general management. Every experience was a stepping stone towards my professional growth. The future is looking bright, and it's at Intelligent Wellhead Systems Just wrapped up our Growth Workshop for Emerging Energy Professionals and had a blast with the next generation of the energy industry. Need your help growing their network...it's a challenge. Session 1: Covering goals, limiting beliefs, LinkedIn profile and personal branding, and networking. It was great to hear some of the challenges and similarities we all face. Plus they are all proud to be forklift certified...wouldn't stop talking about it! If you can welcome them into the industry, one challenge is to have them increase their LinkedIn profiles...feel free to send requests, provide your feedback, and welcome the next generation into the industry!!!! Subsurface Task Force Skills Chair, Graham Goffey, spoke last month to Allister Thomas at Energy Voice. For those who were unable to access the subsequent piece published online, we have attached the full article below. The Task Force published last month a 3 page Management Summary and Call to Action addressed at companies on all scales employing geoscientists in the energy sector and beyond. This was derived from the 2023 Task Force report 'Geoscience Skills in Crisis; energy sector perspectives and energy transition implications'. We also published a document to make it easier for companies and staff to offer internships, to undertake individual or corporate outreach and we also included details of existing mentoring schemes to enable staff to be mentored or to act as mentor.
