When we started Small Girls PR 14 years ago, we leaned into our pride as a women-founded and women-owned company. We even put it in the name 😉 Now, we are thrilled to announce that we are officially certified as a woman-owned business through Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). Transitioning from self-certification to formal recognition by WBENC underscores our commitment to celebrating diversity and excellence in all we do. We’re proud to have represented nearly 1 out of every 5 female-founded unicorns (woman-owned businesses with billion dollar valuations) from Stitch Fix to 23&Me. And to have partnered with women paving the way from Malala to Betsey Johnson herself. Interested in partnering with a certified diverse supplier? Email us at newfriends@smallgirlspr.com

We all know the tired trope about women being "great multitaskers," but we believe there's so much more to their strengths! Instead of focusing on a single skill, we decided to have some fun with a Women's Day bingo game. These bingo squares aren't just about juggling tasks, they are about celebrating the multifaceted contributions that women make every single day. Join the fun! Download our Women's Day bingo card, tick off the scenarios you relate to, and share it in the comments below. #happywomensday

So happy to be part of this network: Find a Female Founder from Female Founders Rise and Emmie Faust. Being among a network of over 200 female founders, encouraging key stakeholders to buy and invest in female founders is so exciting. How conscious are you of who you're buying from when making purchasing decisions? I'm doing a lot more of this now and encourage others to do the same. If you fancy finding brilliant female founders to work with, hire, celebrate, and invest in, check out the list: https://lnkd.in/gxVZuccj #FindAFemaleFounder #FemaleFounder #ImageID A pink background with blue writing. In the top left corner is the Female Founders Rise logo and in the bottom left the SIC Logo. Writing says "Helpng Businesses to Develop Inclusive Organisations for Disabled and Neurodivergent Users" "FindAFemaleFounder.com" On the right there is a picture of me. A white woman in her mid-thirties wearing a denim jacket and a gold necklace. I have pale white skin and blonde hair. below the picture it says "Alice Hargreaves. SIC. Service Founder. “Be twice as good to be noticed.” Sound familiar? Many of us have felt the pressure to prove ourselves in a world that’s quick to judge and slow to support. This is especially true for black women in tech, like the founder of BlackGirlsHack, Tennisha Virginia Martin, who face unique challenges in their professional journeys. Tennisha expressed how she initially tried to navigate her career alone with Jordyn and Tiffiny, believing she didn’t need anyone’s help. However, she soon realized that going solo isn’t the answer. Real strength lies in collaboration and community. Her experience highlights a critical lesson: we don’t have to face these hurdles alone. By learning from each other’s experiences, we can avoid the pitfalls of isolation and create a powerful support network. Here’s what we can take away from Tennisha’s journey: • Collaboration is Key: Whether through mentorship, sharing resources, or simply being there for each other, collective effort leads to greater success. • Community Over Isolation: Leveraging a support network helps us grow and overcome challenges more effectively. • Shared Success: We all rise higher when we lift each other up. Let’s dismantle those silos and create a culture of support and collaboration. Together, we can achieve more and inspire others along the way. 🌐 BlackGirlsHack: https://lnkd.in/gMTJtvN 🎟 SquadCon 2024: https://squadcon.me 📆 August 6-8, 2024 📍Las Vegas, NV 🔗 Stats on Stats (Everywhere): https://lnkd.in/ejdAp5r2 #WomenInTech #BlackWomenInTech #WomenSupportingWomen #BlackGirlsHack #StatsonStatsPodcast

How awesome is this?! Rent The Runway's Jennifer Hyman announced that the clothing rental platform is giving away $1 million in one-month subscriptions to women who announce a promotion or career accomplishment on LinkedIn. Here's why this really matters: Encouraging women to share a promotion or career accomplishment tackles two common biases women face. First, it challenges likability bias: We expect men to be assertive, so when they promote themselves, it feels natural. We expect women to be kind and communal, so when they discuss their accomplishments, we like them less. Second, it chips away at attribution bias: Because we see women as less competent than men, we tend to give them less credit for accomplishments and blame them more for mistakes. I can't wait to see my feed filled with the campaign's hashtag — #RTRShowOff. As she wrote on LinkedIn, "The more that public celebration of women’s professional accomplishments becomes normalized, the more opportunities we’ll receive." #womenempoweringwomen #femaleleaders #linkedin

🙏 Thank you to Women In Product for giving me the opportunity to host a pitch lounge! It was an incredible experience to guide potential speakers on how to craft a winning proposal for the 2024 WIP conference. I had the pleasure of listening to some amazing women in product who showed up with passion and great ideas. What stood out to me was not just their eagerness to receive guidance, but also their willingness to create value by sharing feedback and insights on each other's pitches. It was inspiring to witness collaboration and championing of one another within the community. I'm proud to be a part of this community that values collaboration and growth. I now own Confident, Unapologetic, Focused, Inspiring, and Purposeful in more ways than ways than one. 😉 💄 Have you heard of Bossy Cosmetics Inc.?
