Just wrapped up leading an enlightening board retreat with Unity on the North Shore's Board of Directors. Many thanks to their Minister Kurt Condra who helped with the planning. We built cohesion quickly, had some great outcomes, and made plans for 2024. 🎯 But here's the crucial part. This isn't a one-and-done deal. Every year, this board huddles up, growing stronger and tighter, especially when new board members step in.👥 And you know what? That's the secret sauce - commitment to regular alignment and unity. Without it, a board is just a collection of great minds, not a force of nature. Are you harnessing the full power of your board? A lot is written about how leaders should lead and how employees leave situations not jobs. I think it’s equally important to look at ourselves as employees and colleagues to see how we can change, adapt and help our selves, our teams and our organizations be the best they can be. This comes from a place that I know well. A place where we become so overwhelmed with the situations we are experiencing that we lose sight of our part in the play. Luckily we can learn to adjust our visions and the stories we tell ourselves about our situations. I understand how difficult it can be and I wish you peace and growth if you are struggling with internal issues in your workplace. 🧡
