On maternity leave! 🤱 | Sustainability & Impact Consultant | Facilitator | Empowering Courageous Leadership for the Next Economy
Woohoo!!! I'm so excited that this book is out in the world and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy!! I discovered Ayana Elizabeth Johnson's work and writings through the "All We Can Save" project, which remains my favourite book on climate solutions and action. I've since followed her work in newsletters, podcasts, and wherever I can get my hands on it. She's an absolute force and always offers something poignant, brilliantly researched, and full of joy. I can't wait to read this anthology which begs the compelling question: "What if we get it right?", offering an anthology of essays and conversations on the beautiful possibilities of climate success. I mean... just read the blurb!! "Our climate future is not yet written. What if we act as if we love the future? Sometimes the bravest thing we can do while facing an existential crisis is imagine life on the other side. This provocative and joyous book maps an inspiring landscape of possible climate futures. Through clear-eyed essays and vibrant conversations, infused with data, poetry, and art, Ayana Elizabeth Johnson guides us through solutions and possibilities at the nexus of science, policy, culture, and justice. Visionary farmers and financiers, architects and advocates, help us conjure a flourishing future, one worth the effort it will take—from every one of us, with whatever we have to offer—to create. If you haven’t yet been able to picture a transformed and replenished world—or to see yourself, your loved ones, and your community in it—this book is for you. If you haven’t yet found your role in shaping this new world or you’re not sure how we can actually get there, this book is for you." Let me know if you pick up a copy! I'd love to read and revel in it with you!

"Why hoard for your own species, when you can live to serve all life around you." - Lyla June, Diné musician, scholar, and cultural historian. Lyla June delivers a profound TedX Talk that deeply resonates with me. She advocates for the idea that we can be a "keystone species" and play a vital role in the well-being of ecosystems. I firmly believe in the potential for humans to co-develop thriving landscapes alongside the plants and animals that share these same spaces. As Lyla describes, this concept is not new. Native American communities, through their food and land management techniques made them "active agents in shaping the land to produce prolific abundance". Over millennia, they developed systems of being, intimately interwoven with the landscapes they inhabited. Their practices involved cultivating the land for generations without depleting the soil and intentionally managing wildlife to fill their larder. Listening to Lyla reignites my vision of a thriving future - one where people actively manage landscapes, fostering benefits for all life, and reap in the abundance created. Great article in our latest issue of Shareables on mastering the art of doing nothing... perfect for the weekend ahead... have a read!
This week in Shareables we’ve been trying to master the Art of Doing Nothing ‘Niksen’ – the practice of leaving purpose behind and simply ‘being’. (Not easy for a busy brand studio!) We’ve also put a date in the diary to see When Forms Come Alive at the Hayward Gallery – if you see any exciting exhibitions, please share. Issue 118 of Shareables is out now

On this Earth Day: A Wonderful World to Protect As we celebrate Earth Day, let's take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us - the lush green forests, the vast blue oceans, the towering mountains, and the vibrant wildlife. As Louis Armstrong so eloquently sang in "What a Wonderful World": "I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself, what a wonderful. world." This Earth Day, let's recommit ourselves to protecting this wonderful world we call home. From reducing our carbon footprint to supporting conservation efforts, each of us has a role to play in preserving the delicate balance of our planet. Small Steps, Big Impact Whether it's recycling more, using renewable energy, or simply appreciating the beauty of nature, every action we take can make a difference. As the song reminds us, "The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky, are also on the faces of people going by." Let's come together as a global community to safeguard this incredible world for generations to come. After all, as the lyrics so beautifully state, "I see friends shaking hands, saying, 'How do you do?' They're really saying, 'I love you.'" On this Earth Day, let's pledge to protect our wonderful world, one step at a time. #globalhealth #earthday #climatechange #everyone #publichealth #globalwarming

Director Room 102 Founder Live Design Practice Senior Lecturer | University of Westminster Architecture | Design | Art | Community | Ecology
Here a clip of our end of year OPEN exhibition: https://lnkd.in/d4GUVtCf Please come and visit! As part of the brief we ask critical questions that demand responses from creative thought and practice: How can we include the intricate and intimate relations between nature and culture? How can we record and respond to the changing terrain? How can we consider the participation of not just human communities and their livelihood practices that intersect with natural processes, but also of beyond-human entities and forces such as other creatures whose paths intersect with them?
