Great Taste Awards This has a warm amber colour with a satisfying viscosity but surprisingly little aroma – we struggle to detect any character on the nose. We particularly like the almost chewy texture. It has a gentle flavour, not too sweet and with a faint medicinal note at the end. While the flavour lingers, the antiseptic note is really the only notable characteristic. Very modest taste. This is a truly lovely pine honey, slightly cloudy while a deep amber-gold in aspect, and with a wonderfully syrupy viscosity. Both aroma and palate carry gentle but unmistakable notes of pine and lightly resinous wood, allied to a surprisingly subtle sweetness, not in the least cloying. Palate delivery is even, with considerable, if again relatively gentle, length. Not hugely impactful, perhaps, but delightful in its balance and length. This is an intriguing, complex honey with beautiful, rich pine notes. We found it delicate for a pine honey, resinous and with nuanced medicinal undertones. It is outstanding for its savoury qualities. This clear, pale caramel honey has a very appealing, thick, treacly consistency and melts slowly in the mouth to release a rounded sweetness that lingers long with elegant delicacy.

Cigar Maintenance status and Inspection Visual Inspection: Oily Appearance: Look for an oily sheen on the wrapper, which can indicate good condition. Color: The color should be consistent and even; check for any discoloration. Condition: Look for any signs of blooming (a harmless white powder), and ensure there are no mold, cracks, or wormholes. Olfactory Inspection: Aroma: Smell for the characteristic fermented scent of the tobacco. There should be no other off-putting odors. Tactile and Auditory Inspection: Feel: Gently squeeze the cigar to check for good elasticity; it should not feel too hard or too soft. Sound: When lightly squeezed, the cigar should not produce any unusual sounds, such as crackling. Tasting: Flavor Profile: Assess whether the cigar has a pleasant and inviting aroma. The taste should not be flat or overly sharp; instead, it should balance between stimulating and spicy notes. #Raching #Rachinghumidor #cigars #humidors #cohiba

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒚 𝑵𝒂𝒊𝒍 The Rusty Nail dates back to the mid-20th century. It's believed to have originated in the 1930s or 1940s, although the exact timeline is a bit murky. The drink gained popularity in the 1960s and 1970s, especially in bars and lounges. The name "Rusty Nail" is thought to refer to the rusty-colored appearance of the drink, which comes from the combination of Scotch whisky and Drambuie (is a whisky liqueur. A blend of aged Scotch whisky, spices, herbs & heather honey. Its origins can be traced to a secret recipe created for Bonnie Prince Charlie by his Royal Apothecary in the 18th Century) The Rusty Nail is often associated with a sophisticated drinking style and has been enjoyed by many notable figures over the years, including famous actors and writers. It's a timeless classic that continues to be a favorite among cocktail enthusiasts today. 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: - 1 1/2 oz Scotch whisky - 3/4 oz Drambuie 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: - Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the Scotch and Drambuie. - Stir: Stir gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled. - Strain: Strain the mixture into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. - Garnish: Optionally, you can garnish with a lemon twist for added flavor. There are several variations of the Rusty Nail: 1. The Dirty Nail: This version adds a splash of sweet vermouth to the traditional Rusty Nail recipe, giving it a slightly more complex flavor profile. 2. The Rusty Nail on the Rocks: Instead of stirring and serving it straight, you can simply pour the Scotch and Drambuie over ice in a glass for a more casual presentation. 3. The Rusty Nail Sour: This variation includes lemon juice to add some tartness, balancing the sweetness of the Drambuie. You can mix 1 1/2 oz Scotch, 3/4 oz Drambuie, and 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice. 4. The Rusty Nail with a Twist: Adding a lemon twist or a splash of orange bitters can enhance the drink's flavor, providing a citrusy aroma and taste. 5. The Smoky Nail: If you prefer a more intense flavor, you can use a peaty Scotch whisky, which will give the cocktail a smokier character.

I am going to hallucinate you next... 😶 sit tight... Imagine you're sitting at a wooden table in a brightly lit kitchen, sunlight streaming through the window. In front of you, there's a fresh, bright yellow lemon on a cutting board. You can see its vibrant color, feel the cool, slightly bumpy texture of its skin under your fingertips, and even sense the weight of it in your hand as you pick it up. Now, imagine taking a knife and slicing the lemon in half. Hear the sound of the knife cutting through the lemon, and see the juices start to bead on the surface of the cut lemon. The scent of fresh, zesty lemon fills the air, becoming stronger, more tangy, and invigorating. Lift one half of the lemon to your nose and take a deep breath in. The citrus aroma is powerful, refreshing, and sharp. Now, imagine bringing the lemon half closer to your mouth, and take a big, juicy bite out of it. As you bite down, taste the sour, tangy flavor explode in your mouth. Feel the juice squirt onto your tongue, the sharpness making you pucker and maybe even wince a bit. The acidity of the lemon might even trigger saliva to flood your mouth, and you can imagine feeling that tanginess lingering on your taste buds. #Imagination #SensoryExperience #ProfessionalInnovation #Creativity

Given its unique aroma that blends herbaceous depth with a hint of floral lightness, Salvia lavandulifolia is particularly valued in perfumery for its versatility. Olfactory Profile: Spanish sage oil features a crisp, herbaceous aroma with clear, camphoraceous undertones, complemented by softer, almost lavendery nuances. This profile distinguishes it from other sage varieties by offering a lighter, more aromatic quality, which can be attributed to its growth in the distinct climate and soil conditions found in Spain. Flavor Profile: Herbaceous, slightly fruity with camphoraceous and leathery undertones. Ideal for flavoring meats, sausages, and cheeses, Spanish sage adds depth to Mediterranean dishes. It's also used in herbal teas and infusions for its distinctive taste. The subtleties brought by Salvia lavandulifolia highlight the importance of geographic origin on an essential oil's characteristics. The Spanish variety, with its unique blend of aromatic compounds, offers perfumers a distinctive ingredient that can enhance a fragrance's complexity and appeal. This is especially relevant in the creation of perfumes that seek to embody the warmth, vibrancy, and natural landscapes of the Mediterranean region. 100% Pure & Natural, from a single botanical variety. Does the color of spirit indicate quality ? When it comes to spirits, the color does not necessarily imply the quality or taste of the drink. For instance, a clear whiskey can be just as smooth and refined as a darker, richer whiskey. The color of a spirit can be misleading for several reasons: 1️⃣ Some spirits have caramel coloring added to achieve a certain look. This doesn’t affect taste or quality, but it can influence your perception. 2️⃣ Filtration can remove color from a spirit. For example, many aged spirits are filtered to appear clear, so a lack of color doesn’t mean they lack complexity. 3️⃣ While aging in oak barrels can add color, spirits can also be aged in stainless steel or used barrels, resulting in a lighter hue. The color doesn’t always reflect the spirit’s maturity or flavor depth. The true measure of quality in a spirit lies in its taste, aroma, and texture. A well-crafted spirit will have a balanced profile, with a harmonious blend of flavors and a pleasing mouthfeel.\ Have you been surprised by the taste of a spirit despite its color? Share your experiences in the comments and follow me for more insights. Cheers! #sonalholland #masterofwine #spiritscolor #spiritsquality #whisky #whiskey #whiskeytips #whiskyexpert
