In the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, SmartAID Ukraine team on the ground, particularly in Kharkiv region, is expanding our psychosocial program in the country. This initiative integrates various technologies to support local psychologists and social workers in addressing the needs of tens of thousands of traumatized children and women in the eastern part of the country. Focusing on the mental health needs arising from the war, SmartAID collaborates with local municipalities and towns, notably Kharkiv, to assist children and women near the frontline in coping with the emotional toll of conflict. Utilising different technological tools, our team supports local social workers and psychologists in providing online counseling, maintaining proper documentation of patient history and records, and sharing valuable insights with the regional and national Ministry of Health. The war in Ukraine has generated an immense demand for psychological support, encompassing everything from psychological first aid to comprehensive psychological care. The populace has been subjected to profound experiences of fear, trauma, and isolation, resulting in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. Despite attempts by some to seek refuge in the western parts of the country, ongoing missile strikes continue to jeopardize civilian lives, even far from the frontlines. The pervasive physical threat of these strikes is also inflicting psychological impact on people throughout the entire nation.
