Took a look through some recent #SMARTCAIR projects which show an average savings potential of 40%. If we conservatively estimate compressed air energy use to be 10% of total industrial energy usage (on average), with industrial usage representing about 40% of total global use, compressed air optimization has the potential to reduce global energy use by almost 2% on its own. In one study for a small compressed air system we saw the potential for 47 tCO2e/yr in GHG emission reductions due to the high local grid emissions factor.
