There’s no secret that Artificial Intelligence has been found to increase the efficiency of oncologic screening, including that for breast cancer. A study which made the rounds last year, for example, in which more than 80,000 mammograms were analyzed, showed that AI-supported screening increased breast cancer detection by 20%. But AI could do more than identify: it could predict breast cancer in advance. According to a study published in March this year in Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)’s “Radiology” journal, Mirai, a deep-learning based AI algorithm, is able to predict breast cancer risk 1 to 5 years in advance, based on mammograms. The risk?
