In one of the opening presentations, an image was shared of what would become of the green and family-friendly city if we continue to live as we do now. "PROJECTION OF THE PRESENT" image - see below. 🌍 Today I had the exciting opportunity to attend the Circular Valley Congress at the Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal. As a master's student in sustainable management at the Schumpeter School, it was inspiring to see how innovative approaches are advancing the circular economy. The exchange with experts and like-minded people showed me how important interdisciplinary collaboration is in order to create sustainable solutions. 💡 Events like this motivate me to make an active contribution to the transformation towards a sustainable economy. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #Networking #Sustainability #Innovation

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮: 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐞:𝐖𝐢𝐞𝐧 🌍 I recently attended the 𝐑𝐞:𝐖𝐢𝐞𝐧 event, an inspiring presentation of a 4-month program designed to empower entrepreneurs and startups in addressing Vienna's climate challenges. It was an exciting opportunity to learn from experts about the pressing climate issues we face today. It is always rewarding to be in the room filled with passionate individuals eager to make a difference. The event offered valuable insights into the climate challenges faced by Vienna and urban environments, including: • 🔄 Circularity and Zero Waste • 🌿 Biodiversity and Urban Ecology • 🌡️ Climate Adaptation in Cities • 🏢 Buildings and Green Energy 💡𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲: While smart metering enables real-time energy monitoring in buildings, Vienna's progress in energy efficiency is hindered by the lack of hourly measuring, which limits insights into consumption patterns and inefficiencies. Additionally, the absence of strong legal incentives reduces motivation for users to adopt energy-efficient practices. This policy gap presents both a challenge and an opportunity for innovation in the coming years. 💡 Collaborative efforts among startups, policymakers, and established institutions will be essential for shaping Vienna's sustainable future.
