How much trust does your employer REALLY have in you? 👇 When asking candidates about why they’re looking to leave their current employer, lack of trust is a common theme nowadays. The best businesses are the ones that put 100% trust in their employees. Want to work remotely? Fine. Longer lunch break to get some exercise? No problem. Leaving early to pick the kids up from school? Of course… Businesses that trust their employees, as well as knowing how and where they work best are key to getting results. I’m proud to work for Seven Search and Selection Ltd, a business which has 100% trust in me and my colleagues – so much so that we’re now officially an Employee Ownership Trust, where direct ownership for the business now sits in the hands of all of us. The clue is in the name… TRUST. And for me, this EOT was a sign that my business has the ultimate trust in myself and the team. We’re already experiencing the benefits of this EOT one year on, but I suppose that’s for another time...

Change Anxiety is real! Sitting in our temporary, filing box filled office space (our build-out wasnt completed in time 🙄) I'm reflecting on the hard work and dedication of our team at SOTA Benefits and Cornerstone Preferred Resources Inc during our recent office move. Amidst the stress and chaos, they still managed to implement new business processes and achieve growth every month. Amazing work! 👏 Cas Sharp and I are incredibly proud to have such a dedicated and capable team. 🤔This transitional period has me contemplating how "Change Anxiety" impacts our clients when we introduce something new. While we see the value in a better health plan for a better price, it might not be as straightforward for them. Recognizing the challenges they face is crucial for us moving forward. Any significant changes are impacting you? #employeebenefits #changeanxiety

One Year of the Financial Cents Culture Committee! 🎉 Just over a year ago, we launched the Culture Committee with one goal: ➡️ To build a connected culture and an amazing place to work. In a remote workplace, culture isn’t just important—it’s essential. It transforms a group of individuals into a team, fosters collaboration, and makes work more fulfilling. Over the past year, we’ve focused on creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and connected—no matter where they are. What We’ve Accomplished in 2024 ✅ Team Bonding – Virtual coffee breaks with colleagues. A Buddy System for new starters, hobbies & media channels, plus fun events & games! ✅ Better Work-Life Balance – Monthly mental health days alongside our existing unlimited annual leave and flexible hours initiatives. ✅ Recognition & Appreciation – Birthday e-cards, customer praise, kudos Slack channels, and a quarterly newsletter celebrating company and employee wins. ✅ Inclusivity & Diversity – Fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive workplace for everyone. Great products are built by great teams—and great teams thrive in a strong, supportive culture. Thank you to Shahram Zarshenas and Abdullah Almsaeed for prioritising culture at Financial Cents. And of course, a huge shoutout to my fellow Culture Committee members Kasey Cunningham, Charlotte Gray, Carolina Velasquez, and Rachael Adegunloye for everything they do to make FC an incredible place to work! #CompanyCulture #RemoteWork

It’s like Wilmington is living in an upside world right now. There are a lot of lessons in this photo. 1 - nature wins every time. 2 - black ice is also undefeated. 3 - it’s a generational weather event; southerners don’t know what we’re doing; cut us some slack. 4 - I’m grateful CAP3 gives me the opportunity to work hybrid so I don’t have to drive in this mess. 5 - I am not built for long term WFH life. I’m getting my work done, but it’s a double-down mental grind to stay focused at home. 6 - as per #5, I like home being for home. That’s why I struggle in a full time WFH environment. The clear separation is good for my mental health. 7 - I haven’t been able to get out in the world much, so I’ve had to slow down and relax at home. No errands after work. No extra curricular for the kids. Just a shutdown after work and family time. More of that, please. 8 - life goes on even in the midst of challenges. I’m still taking calls, writing proposals, working with my clients. 9 - it’s times like these that you can reflect on later when faced with new obstacles. It’s tribulation that breeds perseverance. You don’t learn anything without a challenge 10 - my team is a talented group of dedicated rockstars. Everyone at CAP3 has pressed on through the day as per normal. Our clients count in us for some of the most vital functions of their business. No matter what, it’s up to us to us to maintain diligence and excellence in what we do for them. That’s what I’ve got for reflection right now, but I imagine I’ll be coming back and adding for to the comments as I go. Until then, stay warm.

Stop talking about making your employees return to the office... Stop talking about people being "work-shy" Stop talking about a lack of work ethic. Start talking about ways to make people feel that hard work pays off... put more in their pocket, allow them to buy and do more because of work... Otherwise it's just a one way street, and it doesn't go anywhere nice.

Having spent many years at companies with strict in-office policies, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the value of working for a company that truly embraces remote and hybrid work. At Meridian Credit Union, we’re empowered to manage our own schedules while still being accountable and responsible for delivering results. I don’t mind working 60-hour weeks when necessary—and I often do. Sometimes that’s just what it takes. But the real benefit of our flexible approach is the ability to integrate both personal and professional priorities. I can drop my kids off at school in the morning, hit the gym for a midday workout, and still be fully available for my team. When my son or daughter has a hockey tournament or a school field trip, I’m there for those important moments, without missing a beat at work. This kind of flexibility isn’t just a perk—it’s a game changer. It allows me to show up fully in all areas of my life while still creating positive value for my team. Remote work isn’t about slacking off; it’s about trusting your team, respecting their time, and giving them the freedom to work in ways that bring out their best. A team that feels supported and has the flexibility to balance their lives is one that will always go the extra mile. I’ve seen it firsthand, and it’s a culture I’m proud to be part of. #FridayReflections

A great post from Joe Kidson regarding EOT! 👏 For those who might not know, an EOT means the company is owned by its employees - built on trust, transparency, and accountability. Since becoming an EOT, we've seen: ✅ Employees feeling more valued ✅ Greater flexibility in how we work ✅ A stronger sense of purpose and belonging within the team And that's just to name three 🙌 Are you curious about how an EOT could change the way your business operates? Send us a message! 💬 #Employee #EOT #Business #Teamwork #FMCG #Trust
