Training is a funny thing. Sometimes it lands. Sometimes it doesn't. And there's plenty of variables that impact it success. So when Kieran Smith 📈 tagged me in Replicate Labs training stories challenge this week it really got me thinking. Have I had any training horror stories in my career? Probably. Maybe I've removed them from my memory. Honestly, I really struggled to think of anything I'd call a training horror story. I've been pretty luck on that front. But it did get me thinking about the reasons why training can go wrong. That took me back to my own early sales career. Training was often very "do this, then that" without context or a "here's why you do this, then that". At the time, my undiagnosed autism meant that the lack of "why" was a really barrier in preventing me turning knowledge in to action. Steps we take to make our training or content more accessible for the minority, will never make it less accessible to the majority. That's something I learnt the hard way over the years. But try to incorporate in to every Enablement program I build. So this is my entry to the Sales Training Giveaway by Replicate Labs.
