🌱 Promoting Sustainable Practices: Recycling Wastes 🌱 As a responsible global citizen, I believe in taking small steps to protect our environment. I contribute to a simple yet impactful initiative of my daughter’s school : collecting and recycling e-waste, plastics, bottles, and tin cans. Let me share why this matters and how we can join the movement! 🔌 E-Waste: Old phones, chargers, and electronic gadgets often end up in landfills, leaking harmful chemicals into the soil and water. By depositing e-waste at designated collection points, we prevent pollution and conserve valuable resources. 🌍 Plastics: Separate plastic waste (bags, containers, etc.) from other trash. These plastics are then recycled into new products, reducing the strain on our planet. 🍶 Bottles: Single-use plastic bottles are a major contributor to litter. Instead of tossing them away, we place them in recycling bins. This not only keeps our area clean but also reduces the demand for new plastic production. 🥫 Tin Cans: Aluminum and steel cans are infinitely recyclable. When we recycle tin cans, we save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Plus, it’s a win-win for the environment and our community. 🌟 We Can Contribute by spreading awareness. • Encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to participate in similar initiatives. • Separate recyclables from general waste and do proper disposal. Remember, small actions lead to big change. Let’s create a greener, cleaner future together! 🌎♻️ #BeSmartPlayYourPart #KnowBetterDoBetter #TataGreenAct #SMARTLiFE #TataSustainabilityMonth #TSM2024 #TMILLGroup #TMILLFamily #Sustainability #Recycling #EnvironmentalAwareness #GoGreen

From TAKE > MAKE > DISPOSE to REDUCE > REUSE > RECYCLE. ♻️ To close this loop effectively, we need a system where 100% of plastic is collected, recycled, and repurposed. Achieving this goal transparently requires us to enable #materialtraceability and foster a spirit of collaboration among all actors in the supply chain. 🌎

♻️ **Recycling for a Greener Future: The Power of Small Acts** 🔋✊ As we look ahead to creating a sustainable future, small actions, like recycling a single can, can have a profound impact. The image above beautifully illustrates this, where hundreds of recycled cans form a meaningful artwork—a testament to how collective efforts can come together to create something remarkable. Recycling is not just about reusing materials; it’s about preserving resources for future generations. Aluminum cans, for instance, are 100% recyclable, and recycling just one can saves enough energy to power a laptop for three hours. Imagine the positive impact when thousands of us commit to these small yet powerful actions! In the fight against climate change, recycling plays a vital role by reducing the need for raw materials and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. It also helps prevent pollution caused by waste and conserves the Earth’s finite resources. When we recycle, we are essentially giving materials a second life and ensuring that future generations inherit a healthier planet. Through my work at MissEco, I encourage everyone to adopt eco-friendly practices like recycling. Whether it’s reducing our carbon footprint, choosing sustainable products, or simply recycling our waste, every effort matters. Let’s continue to educate, inspire, and act toward a greener tomorrow. Together, we can create a future where sustainability is the norm, not the exception. #GoGreen #Sustainability #Recycle #EcoFriendly #MissEco #FutureGenerations

Today, on #WorldEnvironmentDay, let's take a moment to reflect on the staggering impact of our daily choices and the power of collective action in creating a sustainable future. 🌍 Did you know that globally, we produce over 2 billion tons of #MunicipalSolidWaste annually? That's equivalent to the weight of more than 7,000 Empire State Buildings! But there's hope. By embracing the principles of #ReduceReuseRecycle, we can make a significant difference. For instance, #recycling just one ton of plastic can save up to 2,000 gallons of gasoline and reduce carbon emissions by more than 1.8 metric tons. By opting for reusable products, reducing single-use plastics, and recycling diligently, we can collectively divert millions of tons of waste from landfills and mitigate the environmental damage caused by our consumption habits. 💡 Let's leverage World Environment Day as a catalyst for change. Together, let's commit to making eco-conscious choices that not only protect our planet but also contribute to building a more sustainable and resilient future for all. 🌿 Join us in taking action today! #WorldEnvironmentDay #Sustainability #GreenLiving #ProtectOurPlanet #ActOnClimate #EcoFriendly

Recycling is the worst option when we talk about #circulareconomy. Imagine how much the GHG emissions could be reduced if they repair, reuse, refurbish or remanufacture. Recycling is a good option but it's still linear economy. https://lnkd.in/eWa-tQzh
By promoting recycling Québec could reduce its emissions by up to 45 percent

Many times in our conversations on circularity topics, I hear the argument that “Europeans want to overregulate also the waste sector , but this is not needed to move things forward, as waste does have value and markets will do their job, as they typically do in any sector”. Whilst I’m generally a firm believer in the power of markets, I strongly disagree with such a view when it comes to the waste sector - the facts on the chart below seem to prove my case, or not? At Roland Berger we strongly believe in the need to drive circularity of materials with policymaking, across the value chain, and considering the individual context (system maturity stage, climate, waste composition, population density) of each country - read more about our policy framework for waste management, developed together with the Alliance to End Plastic Waste here: https://lnkd.in/d27qTTux #wastemanagement #wastesolutions #wastepolicies #circulareconomy #recycling #plasticpollution #plasticwaste #epr #recyclingtargets

Happy recycling day = unhappy down cycling day, find out a bit more about why below in this study by Metabolic Keeping materials in there intended functional, or making sure things are useful for longer is old but gold when it comes to reducing resource related impacts of resource intensive sectors, including construction and energy related products and associated technologies used to deliver building services.
Today is Global Recycling Day. But at Metabolic we don't like recycling! Many think that recycling means old items are remade into new items and materials are cycled over and over again. But in reality, most recycling is ‘downcycling’ - which is just one step better than incinerating or dumping trash into a landfill. In a Circular Economy, Recycling is the last resort. There are many other R-words that mean keeping materials at their highest value for the longest period of time, like: 👥 Rethink 🌱 Reuse 🔧 Repair 🔄 Repurpose 📉 Reduce 🛠️ Refurbish 🏭 Remanufacture R-strategies create a win-win scenario for the economy, society, and the environment. So, today, we ask you to rethink: what are all the actions that can happen before you recycle? Using the example of a laptop and pioneering case studies, we guide you through its lifecycle, showing how circular and R-strategies can maintain its highest value and reduce environmental impacts. ➡️ Check out “The (actual) story of stuff”: https://bit.ly/3IC4xEA James Souder Irene Beers Omar Ali Dora Chi Xu #globalrecyclingday #recycling #higherRs #environmentalimpact #circulareconomy
