Long post alert but I encourage everyone to read its entirety.
“Be where your feet are.” -Nick Saban
Think about that for a second. This applies not only to our personal life, but also our professional life. Show up and be truly present, people can tell.
Last week, World Wide Technology hosted almost 2,000 of our 10,000+ employees at our Sales Kickoff. The week at kickoff spent with peers was inspiring, rewarding, and humbling. I saw so many people from WWT that I haven’t seen in many years. People I grew up with, people that have been and are still mentors for me, people that I’ve seen grow, people that I’ve been able to learn from, but most importantly, they are all just great people. I challenge all of you to learn more about WWT’s why. It’s more than a sale, it’s about building a relationship with someone to better that person and their organization as well as ourselves. Our culture at WWT is truly unmatched, and it’s not just a poster on the wall. It’s real, I promise that.
We wouldn’t have the growth and success we’ve witnessed over the last 34 years without our customers, partners, and employees, and it is all three of those attributing to WWT’s organic growth to over $20 billion in annual revenue. Yes, you read that right, ORGANIC growth, not by acquisition, which frankly is extremely impressive for such a large organization. In 2012 when I started 12 years ago, I thought we were a very large company with over $4B annual revenue. What a testament to our leadership on continuing to hire the right people for the right role, but it’s also up to everyone of us for keeping a unique culture and core values at the forefront for our new employees. At the end of the day, we want our customers and partners to see that it’s our people that are WWT’s biggest asset. It’s who we are, how we act, and how we treat others.
There are so many people I would like to publicly thank to include my family first and foremost, our customers, our partners, and my coworkers. I’d like to give a shoutout to one of those great people I mentioned at WWT in this post.
Patrick Reeve. I had no idea that when we first started working together it would have blossomed to a lifelong true friendship. You work your tail off day in and day out. But you don’t do it for yourself, you do it for others and you truly put our customers and partners first. I cannot thank you enough for your partnership but also our friendship. THANK YOU for another great year and you deserve as much credit as anyone for the 100% club picture below. Keep up the great work and I’m excited for 2024 and beyond!
Thank you to everyone for reading this and for another fantastic year. Remember, “be where your feet are”. Show up and truly be present. People can tell.
