Since 2022, we've had the privilege of working with Ariel Codde and her team, as well as the amazing vendors and vineyards, and event partners BioPak and Compost Connect - to transform Toast Martinborough into a leader in zero-waste events in the beautiful Wairarapa. This year, we set an ambitious goal: to raise last year’s impressive 97% resource recovery result to 99%. Only a maximum of 1% of resources generated by the event, spanning across the six vineyards and Festival Road, would end up in landfill. If we hit this target, Toast will become the second Nonstop event to achieve this milestone, following in the footsteps of Brendan Foot Supersite Round the Bays Wellington last year. We’re excited to share the results in the coming days, but one thing is already clear: our partnership with Toast Martinborough proves what’s possible when an event fully commits to sustainability—allowing us to go all in. Three years in, and Toast Martinborough’s progress sets the bar for what’s achievable in the events industry. 🎤 “If we are to create a large-scale impact in the food industry, we need to impact the core operations of the farmers. In fact, our task is to help the whole food value chain create a real sustainability impact by making it part of their core operations.” Improvin’s CEO Niklas Wallsargård took the stage at Slush to showcase how we leverage AI to help agri-food companies gain actionable insights into farm-level practices that impact their sustainability – all while requiring minimal effort from the farmers. 🌱 Niklas shared our collaboration with Hankkija Oy as an example of how this information empowers agri-food businesses across Europe to drive emissions reductions and support biodiversity, field by field. A big thank you to Tarmo Kajander and Lumi Orvokki Parviainen at Hankkija for allowing the audience to peek into the Puntari platform, and to Veera Kapitonenko, Maryama Moalim and the team at Slush for inviting us and delivering a well-organized event. We can’t wait to return next year. 🌟

We are thrilled to see our first ever Impact Report launch today. In addition to Kevin’s words, we would like to share some from our Chairman, Gerard Barnes: “Every business has a part to play in making our world a better place, and reports like these play a pivotal role in enabling us to measure our progress and drive further improvements. Our activities have a substantial influence on the environment, employment, supply chains and communities of the places in which we operate. Our history, ambition for the future, and our role in our communities and environments all come with great responsibility.” This is an important milestone on our sustainability journey and one we are extremely proud to share. A lot of hard work went into bringing our inaugural Impact Report to life. It wonderfully captures the essence of our business and is a true reflection of the hard work and progress made over the past three years.
