📣 OCM 📣 This clip from the Paris 2024 race shows a pro cyclist having a rough start. If even the best athletes can stumble at the beginning, it’s a reminder that in OCM (Organizational Change Management), sometimes our projects don’t kick off perfectly either - and that’s OK. The key is to stay focused, adapt, and push forward. Here are 5 tips to help navigate OCM challenges when things don’t go as planned: 1️⃣ Communicate Early and Often - Keep everyone in the loop from day one. Silence leads to uncertainty. 2️⃣ Empower Change Champions - Identify advocates to motivate and guide the team through turbulence. 3️⃣ Train, Don’t Just Inform - People need hands-on training to embrace new processes, not just memos. 4️⃣ Be Ready for Resistance - Understand that some pushback is normal; listen and adjust. 5️⃣ Celebrate Small Wins - Progress is progress. Recognize even the smallest steps forward to keep momentum. Just like in a race, OCM isn’t about a flawless start - it’s about adjusting and keeping your eye on the finish line. Being part of this experience allowed us to exchange valuable insights, share practical case studies, and pave the way for professional growth together. 🎉 Reflecting on a Year of Growth and Achievement 🎉 As the year comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible milestones and lessons learned over the past year—both personally and as part of a phenomenal team. ✅ Personal Growth: This year, I earned both my CAPM and PMP certifications. The journey was challenging, but it deepened my understanding of project management and strengthened my ability to lead impactful projects. 🏋️♀️ Team Accomplishments: In the Health and Wellness Department, we took on a major fitness center remodel. From planning and design to execution, our team pulled together to create a space that supports employee health and wellness in new and exciting ways. The project was a success, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we achieved together! 🙏 Gratitude: I’m so thankful for my team, Nick Edwards, Amy Anderson, and Josh Gaskins, who brought creativity, hard work, and resilience to every step of the process. 1.     Live through the ownership for the mission. It is crucial to acknowledge this factor as a separate one. The programme manager and his/her team should be shoulder-to-shoulder with the owner, the board, and the enterprise architect to make sure that the programme keeps the right priority. Priority setting is the crucial booster for success and is difficult to keep over time. Therefore, it is recommended to categorize the entire change portfolio into three layers: strategic, tactical, and operational. A high impact programme should be categorized as strategic and should be granted high priority for the entire duration of the programme. This requires strong leadership as expressed by “ownership for the mission”.

This marks the ninth time Duplantis has shattered a world record, proving that even when you’ve reached the pinnacle, there’s always room to soar higher. As project managers, we can draw inspiration from Duplantis' relentless pursuit of excellence. Like Mondo, we must push beyond our limits, continuously striving to surpass our benchmarks, no matter the obstacles we face.
