Durapalm by Smith & Fong Co.’s Post

This design encompassed the use and application of both Durapalm and Plyboo by Smith & Fong bamboo (not shown) plywoods. For the wall mounted shelving units, the linear grain coconut palm plywood was employed. The design approach was clean and straight forward letting the linear lamination of the material and warmth of the natural palm speak for itself. In keeping with the color and tone of the design and capturing every bit of utility from the material, the palm round cuts from the wine rack construction were used as coasters for drink service. Perky’s Café was a clean, smart execution of design and function.
