Excited to share our latest study unveiling a cutting-edge framework for crafting subsea oil & gas production systems! What sets this work apart is its innovative approach, seamlessly integrating various subsea' s subsystems along with a multitude of regulatory constraints right from the initial stages of design decision-making. This framework is a game-changer, providing invaluable support to subsea design engineers throughout their production system design journey. Title: A framework for early-stage automated layout design of subsea production system Authors: Soban Babu Beemaraj, Bilal Muhammed, Amol Joshi, Edmond Coche, and Alain CHANET URL: https://lnkd.in/gWQBQGRQ Reading: https://lnkd.in/gwz5hjGC Abstract: Early-stage layout design of subsea production system is pivotal in oil and gas production owing to its effects on productivity and cost. It is important to explore diverse feasible design alternatives within a reduced timeframe to make better early-stage design decisions. However, substantial challenges exist due to the multitude of subsystems and their intricate interdependencies within these systems. In addition, the feasible design options must satisfy various regulatory requirements, including geohazard area avoidance, structural capacity limitations, safety distance, mooring constraints, and metocean considerations. This paper presents a framework for early-stage layout design of subsea production systems. The framework decomposes the layout design problem into its four subsystem level problems: drill center clustering, manifold positioning, process host positioning, and flowline design. Each of these subsystems is tackled through specialized algorithmic approaches. For drill center clustering, a machine learning-based solution is employed, while manifold and process host positioning relies on geometry-based techniques accompanied by optimization methods. Flowline design strategies are adopted from previous research efforts. To evaluate the efficacy of the framework, two real-world use cases are meticulously examined, and the interplay among the four subsystems and their corresponding outcomes are analyzed. The framework demonstrates the ability to generate quick and feasible design options. Grateful for the generous support of Edmond Coche and Alain CHANET from TotalEnergies and BP Gautham and Swaminathan Natarajan from Tata Consultancy Services; Tata Consultancy Services - Research in making our research a reality. Their contribution has been instrumental in the success of our work. Thank you for being invaluable partners in this journey!

We’re solving our customers' brownfield modifications challenges one by one. Last month we highlighted our Brownfield Engineering Transformation Solution – which is saving cost and time in engineering projects. In this example, during a routine maintenance check, our customer Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) had identified a corroded pipework in the network. Situated in a confined space, if left to further corrode, this could have resulted in leakages in the environment and unplanned downtime to survey and replace the pipework. The affected area was scanned by the drill crew, data sent back to the onshore team, for a timely quotation, with new pipework modelling promptly created from the scanned data. Sandy Bruce, Rig Maintenance & Projects T/A Team Lead, CNR International (U.K.) Limited, commented: “We have used the handheld scanner for piping work scopes across all three CNR platforms in the North Sea, Ninian South, Ninian Central and Tiffany, which has added value to our operations. We are impressed by the efficiency of reducing costs alongside the quality of service received by applying this new smart technology. By removing the need for independent surveys, we are ensuring a right-first-time fit for the replacement parts.” Discover more, visit: https://lnkd.in/eM-ue2n2 #Kenera #technology #digitisation #customercentricity #sustainability #enhancethebrand

1- ARTIFICIAL LIFT WINNER-2017 MEA JUDGES An expert panel of judges about 15 oil and gas experts, has selected the top 22 industry projects that open new and better avenues to the complicated process of finding and producing hydrocarbons around the world. ZEITECS, A SCHLUMBERGER COMPANY | SHUTTLE RIGLESS ESP REPLACEMENT SYSTEM This represents a major advancement in the oil field. By eliminating the requirement for a rig, the ZEiTECS Shuttle minimizes production deferment associated with rig availability. This translates to substantial cost savings, particularly in offshore and remote locations where rig mobilization can be time-consuming and expensive. The ZEiTECS Shuttle comprises two key assemblies: Permanent Completion: This component is deployed within the tubing and acts as a semi-permanent fixture. It incorporates a docking station equipped with three male electrical wet connectors. These connectors supply power to either a standard three-phase AC induction motor or a permanent magnet motor (PMM). Retrievable ESP Assembly: This assembly houses the ESP. system components, and is designed for retrieval and redeployment using the chosen deployment method (wireline, coiled tubing, or sucker rods). Managing Director at Astrimar | Chartered Engineer | De-risking Technology | Supporting Innovators | Mentoring Students, Engineers & Start-ups
Very proud of what the Astrimar Ltd team have achieved in this project. Through innovation, creativity, strong collaboration and attention to detail, this project has demonstrated what is possible and what value can be provided to our clients even within very short operational timescales. #teamwork #technologydevelopment #reliabilitybydesign #innovation #engineeredsolutions #technologyqualification #collaboration
Astrimar Ltd are delighted to announce successful delivery and deployment of the first two Wellhead Alignment and Torque Transfer Systems (WATTS) for bp, in collaboration with Neodrill AS. bp engaged Astrimar to first develop a concept, followed by detailed design and manufacture of an alternative, more cost-effective, solution to a conventional subsea deflector base, while maintaining or enhancing the same wellhead alignment and snag-load resistance functionality. Astrimar developed a highly innovative, engineered solution in the form of WATTS, to effectively replace a conventional deflector base. It is installed on top of, and interfaced with, an established Neodrill CAN-ductor system. By uniquely decoupling deflector base functions, we designed independent solutions to address each function. This resulted in a system that provides improved tolerance stack-up and alignment, effective torque transfer, reduced manufacturing costs, and simplified installation. The manufacture of the majority of the WATTS system elements, was effectively and successfully undertaken by Hydrus Group. Astrimar scope of supply included: - Conceptual and detailed engineering design - Engineering analysis, including FEA - Technical risk assurance, including FMECA - Interface & manufacturing management - Test programme development and program support - Installation support team - WATTS system document portfolio For further information on the WATTS system, please refer to the following resources: 📄 WATTS Brochure: https://lnkd.in/dJQ6bEv5 🌐 Astrimar Website: www.astrimar.com 🌐 Neodrill website: www.neodrill.com #Innovation #EngineeringExcellence #SubseaTechnology #Astrimar #Neodrill #EnergySolutions #bp #Hydrus #Technology #Sustainability #Leadership
