🇮🇷New Book Released..📚 I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our new book, "Pathways to a Sustainable Future," an in-depth exploration of global environmental issues and climate solutions. As an Iranian member of this international project team, I'm proud to bring perspectives from my region to this important work. The book delves into the unique sustainability challenges facing areas like the Middle East, including water scarcity and desertification crises. But it also showcases the innovative climate action initiatives being pioneered by communities around the world. This book is a call to unite across borders and empower grassroots climate leadership. I'm honored to share this collaborative effort with my professional network. Leveraging diverse expertise is crucial to addressing the environmental threats we face. 🔜 The E-book will be available soon. How should we respond to a profound environmental crisis that is now unavoidable? Some thoughts on three alternative responses summarised in the table below. Denial Mind is where we are now, pretending the whole thing isn’t happening. Crisis Mind is where we should be, adapting our values and behaviours to a world wracked by an increasingly hostile natural environment. And Collapse Mind is where we will soon be if we don’t make that shift from Denial Mind to Crisis Mind. Would love to know what others think and how the table and wider analysis might be improved. There’s a link to a post in the comments below that explores the themes in the table in more detail. Join us TOMORROW for the 2025 Annual Symposium! >> Keynote: Local Climate Action | 2:10 pm ET Brian Ross of the Great Plains Institute will discuss the planners role in combating climate change. Setting the stage for the symposium’s two panels, Brian will highlight how planners, whether they are experts in climate change or not, and regardless of whether their community has prioritized climate action, need to recognize market- and policy-driven changes in long-range planning and development review and implement adaptation strategies in a climate-changed world. Learning Objectives: - recognize changes in land use and development associated with energy choices that affect all communities - understand the essential role of planners in preparing communities for climate-driven risks
