#ICYMI We've launched the Virginia 250 Preservation Fund grant program after receiving $20million for #historicpreservation projects that will increase visitation to Virginia ahead of America's semiquincentennial in 2026, which will mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. To historic sites and history museums across the Commonwealth: This special grant program was created to support projects under the umbrella of capital improvements that will enhance the visitor experience and benefit the public. Capital improvement projects are restricted to the following types:
• Rehabilitation and/or stabilization of a historic resource
• ADA accessibility improvements
• Infrastructure improvements to a historic site
• Site work (landscaping, parking improvements, lighting, wayfinding, interpretive signage)
• Reconstruction of a historic building
• Fabrication and installation of museum exhibits
Additionally, eligibility is NOT limited to properties related to the American Revolution—any historic site or museum that meets all the requirements is eligible to apply.
The preapplication is now available and closes on August 30. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eCJ5CyVK
