Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative’s Post

This past week I had an incredible opportunity to be selected to participate in a Heritage and Culture Preservation training at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. which has provided resources that will help create plans and training for insitutions. The class was an initiative through FEMA and the Smithsonian Cultural Rescue Initiative. Throughout the week, we got to to see many behind the scenes of a few places to include the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute where we received hands on training. The week ended with an exercise on evacuating museum artifacts and relocating due to an impending “wildfire” #heartraining2024
