Perfect on paper and in person.. but not perfect for the job. We recently hired a Senior Project Manager for an architectural millwork firm outside of Denver. He presented exceptionally, passed our extensive process, and had (multiple) incredible on-site conversations with ownership - even discussing an equity track in the near future. Yet, within two weeks of his start, he put in his notice as he was offered a different position he "couldn't pass up". This was a stark reminder that no matter how great a recruiter or hiring manager you are, we are still working with human beings. All parties involved were stunned.. except the candidate of course. We pride ourselves on a low refill rate - but sometimes we are reminded - people are people. This industry will never be black and white. It’s as much an art as it is a science. Sometimes, things happens. Always be wary of anyone promising 100% certainty in hiring. Embrace the human element and understand that unpredictability is part of the game. An effective search partner knows how to account for most variables - but it will never be absolute. (Don't worry - we already have submitted replacement candidates) . . . #hiring #recruiting #construction #bybmym

How about communicating the results of the CPUC’s NEM Lookback Study which concluded that non-residential NEM 1.0 and 2.0 solar customers pay more than their cost of service (see link below, page 11). Oh yea, the Commisioners at that time ignored their own study and still made decisions in the NEM 3.0 and NEMA proceedings that ignored those findings. And now taxpayer money is being spent to hire someone to “shape public perception”. Maybe that money should be used to make decisions based on the CPUC’s own data. https://lnkd.in/gPAuVcAp

#facilities_manager_skills Every day in simple Quotations I will mention the skills that every successful facility manager should possess: skill No.6 (Make hiring decisions): As leaders within a company, facility managers often make hiring decisions for their maintenance, cleaning, or security personnel. A facilities manager needs to be a good judge of character, and should also be impartial in their decision-making. They are likely to read resumes, conduct interviews, and hire people to fulfill vacant positions. A strong facility manager is able to recognize a candidate's technical and interpersonal strengths and can assemble a cohesive staff. skill No.7 (Navigate technology): It's important for facilities managers to stay up-to-date with trends and developments in technology. They need to know how to navigate advanced HVAC equipment, smart building technologies, and security monitoring systems. FMs also regularly use employee experience apps and electronic filing systems and they may even use wearable technology. A leader and managers, need to have a strong understanding of how to use software and geographic information systems in order to accurately and easily train members of their staff. I appreciate your comments and am happy to share your opinion 😉 #Every_day_simple_Quotations. #Facilities_Management. #Facility_Manager.

Chartered Architect I CS&A Responsible Engineer at Sellafield Ltd | RIBA Membership Committee to the Board | Founder of the GAA | Podcaster | Mentor & Advisor | Fellow of the RSA and RIBA
According to Reed the top paying job title is ARCHITECT! Let’s celebrate right? The recruitment company Reed has analysed all the jobs available on its website, which has listed 17 million posts over the past eight years, but excluded leadership roles, to ensure that chief executives and chief financial officers do not skew the data. Here’s where the depressing facts begin. The top three positions are: 1. A security architect, with an average annual salary of £115,700, 2. A solution architect, on £100,700 3. A cloud architect, on £98,400. ❌ Average salary of an Architect who designs buildings is £44,838, according to Reed. Stolen titles added to their whopping salaries I’m going into secuity architecture people! I quit! https://lnkd.in/ejf65Ees Paul Iddon Grant Erskine RIBA Architect Matt Kirk Kilian Soudy Aylin Round Mihail Vulov Victoria Farrow Farian Anwar Jake Rudin Erin Pellegrino Evelyn Lee Bill Wyer Rakesh Mistry ARB RIBA Mohammed Balila 🇸🇦🇮🇹 Andrew Holt

Don't leave it for tomorrow. DON'T ❌ 🙄 During my site supervision visits, I often notice a common mistake that clients make. They tend to overlook important steps, thinking that relying solely on labor or assistance will guarantee the best results. Unfortunately, this often leads to a lack of productivity after completion. 📌 To avoid this problem in the future, there are two simple steps they can take -> 1) - Prioritize hiring expert labor—those with proper certification or training. 2) - Invest time in research or seeking additional help to pay attention to details, which will benefit them in the long run. Remember, knowledge and money are important, but time is crucial too. Use it wisely, or you might end up spending three times more than necessary. For more, you can check our Page or Visit our site. ✶Founder & CEO @Richard Group, one of America’s fastest-growing general contracting and construction services companies. ✶Mentor to Veterans & entrepreneurs ✶Creator of Richard Building Model ‘RBM’ ✶ #purposebuilder
Two of our Richard Group headquarters executives, Paige Norkus Priest, Director of Administration, and Lindsey Berry, Sr. Director of People, headed out to see our exceptional field managers running three local #healthcare projects. One of the biggest failures in #construction #career planning is mismanaging communication when partnering with current employees as their projects come to completion. That’s why we believe our 30/60/90 process is a new and different way to allow employees to decide what they’d like to build next. After 7 years in business, in 2022, we became the 77th largest healthcare builder in 🇺🇸 according to Building Design+Construction Media, and this is because our people have a say in growing our core purpose and building their resume.
