Maybank ME Autohub | Content Creator | Ex Malaysiakini | Bachelor of Mass Communication (Hons) Broadcasting
Dear My Connections, "Please acknowledge my situation and consider my job-seeking status. I'm reaching out as I'm actively pursuing employment opportunities and am available to start working between late February and March 2024. Your attention and support are greatly appreciated." I already attended 9 interviews and two times second stage Interview sessions this past 4 months I already applied for more than 100 job applications from various digital platforms such as LinkedIn, Jobstreet, online advertisements, etc "I primarily applied for roles in broadcast journalism, social media executive positions, content writing, content creator and marketing (media) executive roles." "I'm feeling quite frustrated as a recent graduate because I'm unsure about what I could have done better during my interview. Despite sending a follow-up email, I haven't received any response from the human resources department. This lack of communication leaves me feeling uncertain about how to improve for future opportunities." "Because of my commitment issues, I'm struggling to establish myself as a recent graduate. Nevertheless, I remain hopeful that organizations will provide me with an opportunity to demonstrate my potential within the media industry." I would appreciate it if any of you who read this could help me, by sharing any vacancy in the Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya/Cyberjaya area. "Even if there are no current job openings, I kindly request your support by engaging with this post through likes, comments, and shares. Your participation will greatly enhance its visibility, which I deeply appreciate." Thank you for all your support. Danish

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗘𝗟𝗖𝗔 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆! Time flies and yesterday marks one year as my last working day at La Sentinelle Group. It also marks one year since I joined ELCA Mauritius. After 14 years and so, in the media, it was time to explore the Communication landscape. I got offered the role of Content Specialist which was not too far from creative writing and many Marcom tasks. When joining ELCA Mauritius I didn’t know what was in store for me as I was exploring a whole new ecosystem. I have shared my journey for the first month, the 3 months, 9 months. Wow, it's already 12 months since I’ve made the move away from the Media. I don’t regret a single minute my choice. I have mourned my life as a journalist and am missing people in the Press whom I bump into from time to time or meet. I will still be a journalist by heart and my passion for writing stories remains untouched. When leaving my role some did have doubts about me making it for one year. Others questioned why leaving this prestigious role. But when your passion no longer aligns with your professional aspirations. When you top-up your grade and will not further climb the ladder coupled with no desk, you need to think about how you will see yourself in 5 years. That's why I decided to quit! Joining Corporate Communication has been on my mind for more than two years, and I wanted to grab an opportunity or simply know my worth. Having 15 years in the media landscape with a network of contacts and expertise in Brand Journalism and Tech reviewers or Tech Media specialists, I was on the search for 1 month and applied for some offers. Until I saw a Tech Company in search of a Content Specialist which was in line with my skills, expertise, and experience. Last week marks One Year since I joined the ELCA Mauritius. I have lost touch with all my contacts; I have lost touch with friends from the Media and colleagues. I don’t have any of my SIGNATURE as a Journalist. But what have I gained? 1. Quality of work over Quantity of work. 2. My talent is better used than ever. 3. I feel engaged and make contributions. 4. I have developed Team effort and built new work relationships. 5. I have time for personal projects and time for fitness. 6. I have room to learn new things and acquire new skills. 7. I always ask for feedback and give feedback. 8. I have matured in listening to constructive feedback and making amends in no time. 10. My work/contribution is valued. This year that has gone by has shown me that anything is possible if you believe in it. I got an impulse from someone who saw potential in me. That person has made me realize that I am worth it. I decided to choose that path that led me to another career evolution. ------------------------------------ I'm Florian Lepoigneur, a former journalist turned Content Specialist with one year of experience in Corporate Communication.

Direct Impact is excited to introduce our newest teammate, Account Executive Paola (Collazo) Zapata! Prior to joining DI, Paola managed account operations for an international communications consultancy and an agency specializing in crisis management and public affairs. She has also had a variety of internship experiences in public relations and social media. She is a native of Venezuela and has called Maryland home for almost a decade. Learn more about Paola! ⬇️ What did you study in college, and what career did you think you would pursue? I have always been interested in writing and knew I wanted to pursue a career in communications after my very first meeting with a college counselor. I started wanting to do communications studies and a minor in screenwriting, but shifted to PR once I learned more about it! I found the aspect of working behind the scenes mixing together writing, media knowledge, and creative thinking interesting and a great fit for my future career. What is your biggest piece of advice for people coming up in the media and communications industry? My biggest piece of advice is to not be afraid to share your ideas with others. It can be intimidating to share a different point of view or offer your unique way of thinking when you are the most junior person in the room, but any good communications professional should and will welcome your ideas with open arms. Take ownership of your thinking and apply it to your work! Also, welcome and encourage any and all kinds of feedback and take it as a means to grow. The quality of your work and the way you work with your team will greatly improve once you apply the feedback you receive, even if it stings at first! Why do you think local matters? Local media matters now more than ever as our online methods of communication are inundated with pieces that toe the line between opinion and fact. As events happen and social media takes the first stab at forming an opinion, local news is able to offer a perspective no one else can get: what really is happening, how the community feels about it, how they will be affected, and more. As media keeps transforming, so does local, but its prevalence remains an important factor to position community voices at the forefront of what truly matters.

Digital Marketing Expert - I help business owners DRIVE SALES and RETAIN CUSTOMERS through STRATEGIC MARKETING PLANS || Website Designer || Certified Communicator
I know it’s not thursday but can we take a stroll down memory lane? I stumbled on this video today while going through my gallery and it reminded me of the memories i had at a radio station as a bi lingual (Yoruba and English) broadcast journalist during my student internship. Working at the radio station was amazing and really sparked my love for broadcasting but I decided to hold that for a while to focus on developing my Tech career. Although I stopped it, my passion for it never stopped. I’ve made series of video of myself casting news, doing different types of programmes both in Yoruba and English, but end up not posting cos I don’t want to confuse my audience. I’m trying to find a way to combine both interests without one affecting the other and that is why I’m putting up this post. What advice can you offer on balancing these 2 career? How can I combine my love for broadcasting with my digital marketing career? Any tips or experiences you can share would really be helpful! #PS: The video is a Yoruba broadcast #friday #broadcasting #digitalmarketing
