Gone are the days when referring business was criticised. In my career spanning almost 25 years I have been referring cases to various Doctors in my hospital as well as major corporate hospitals. Saying that I have not received any favours by doing so would be wrong. Yes I have not taken any cash or gift. But I always took favours from them by referring my friends and my close associates for treatment to them in return. This too is a kind of barter and to which the doctors are okay with. As long as they are not counting percentages. I encourage this and talk about this to patients as well. They can also refer clients and in return take discounts. Nowadays almost 70 to 80% are insured so there is no inflating bills as may be in previous years. So referring each other and making a good community of reference is very healthy in medical practice. I am sure there will be disagreement to this as well but think of it this way. You refer your insured neighbour and get your maid or guard treated free in that hospital. Encourage documented reference. It will give you all: Loyalty, Service, Community, Faith, Blessings, etc etc.
