We’ve gotten an overwhelming amount of interest for our Leadership programs this season which has been absolutely amazing. I’m overjoyed by the young people who are eager to get involved and the parents/guardians and support systems that are equally as excited to see their young people thrive. I want to take a moment to provide a few points of clarity about our program and I believe they are important to note. 1. We work hard, but play just as hard! 2. Our program is NOT just for teens who are excelling academically or socially. Our program is designed to meet ALL of our young people where they are and support them on their journey! 3. It is not a mandate that our teens go to college. We expose our young people to many different post-secondary paths and help them navigate the direction that closely aligns with them and THEIR life goals. 4. We ARE about providing spaces where young people can be their full, authentic self. 5. We DO prioritize mental wellness! Everyone deserves the space to be whole! 6. We explore “Ubuntu” as a program and develop an appreciation for humanity and connectedness. #IAM 7. Although our tactics difffer from some traditional leadership development programs, our model works! Dont ask me, ask our Alumni! On Webcast Wednesday, I'll shed some light on this persistent belief that training - alone - can fix everything. However, training doesn't work in isolation but requires a culture and community that is supportive of it - and it starts with leadership buy-in. For behaviors and skills to truly change, it requires a holistic approach - and training is a piece, but not the entire pie. I'll discuss: ✔ the 70-20-10 learning model which identifies the types of experiences that help individuals learn and grow. ✔ a use case example that illustrates the application of this model.
