Check out the latest episode of the Factor This! Podcast featuring Sheldon Kimber and John Engel for a deep dive into the state of the clean energy industry, the decline of the "Goldilocks" business model, and Intersect Power's pursuit of green supermajor status. Watch the full podcast here: https://lnkd.in/eQnr2ia5 Read or listen here: https://lnkd.in/dj4SgrRR Renewable Energy World
Thanks to John Engel for a fun but candid discussion on the current state of the clean energy industry, and the need for a new, more scalable clean infrastructure business model. We explored the harsh realities of today's “Goldilocks” business model for clean energy, why there’s nothing innovative about congratulating ourselves for owning assets instead of flipping them, and Intersect Power’s vision for building a green supermajor.
Clean energy needs a new bellwether. Who should it be?

Turning Impactful & Positive Ideas into Realities | People First Leader | Energy Transition SME | Systems Change Specialist | Commercialisation | Speaker | Non-Executive Director | GAICD
Here’s a piece of history that’s also very current. Sorting through some boxes in my study I found the 2002 Co2CRC Business Plan! Back in 2002 I was excited to have the opportunity to work with Prof Peter Cook and the team at CO2CRC Limited on exploring declined reservoirs in Bass Strait for potential CO2 storage. Fast forward 20+ years and I’ve enjoyed connecting the current team under the leadership of Matthias Raab PhD with those companies seeking to understand CCUS and learn from the teams decades of research. As the Net Zero Australia project has shown is, in all cases there is a need for some level of CCUS to achieve net zero. Increasing our understanding of all options including capture, storage and utilization is critically important research. Reading through the business plan the vision and mission hasn’t changed and the team remains on focused on similar KPIs. It would be fascinating to see a summary of learnings and progress against this original plan. #energytransition #netzero #ccus #historyinthemaking #reflections
