At its core, an internship is a mutually beneficial partnership between the learner and the employer. Internships in Career Technical Education (CTE) uniquely bridge classroom learning in CTE programs with real-world application, offering a high-quality experience and a direct path to careers in in-demand fields. It's an opportunity for learners to develop skills, explore career paths, and showcase their abilities, all while bringing lessons learned back to the classroom. Employers gain early access to skilled talent pipelines, and the opportunity to ensure CTE program curriculum aligns with employer needs. One year ago today, these four amazing college students began their Summer Internships at NCERC at SIUE. Alicia, Emily, Andrew and Daniel were four of the best of the best Interns ever. Here at the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) we launched an Intern Membership this year. An Intern Membership is just that, you’re working as an Intern in the grain or grain processing industry and you’re able to receive a full benefits membership into #GEAPS. The best part? Intern and Student Memberships are free, we DO NOT charge dues or fees to Interns and Students. If you’re a company who employs Interns, I strongly encourage you to recommend that your Interns obtain a #GEAPS Intern Membership OR as many companies are doing, sign up your Interns for a GEAPS membership. Earlier today, I had the privilege of attending the Lehigh Valley Internship Summit by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp.. 📚 It was a valuable experience to learn about how companies across our region, like EnerSys, are utilizing interns to drive strategic objectives. The summit covered insightful topics like Generational Differences and Interns, as well as the influence of AI on internships. 💡 🧠 It was an excellent opportunity to network and expand my knowledge base. 🙌🏻 #Internship #Networking #ProfessionalDevelopment
