India has surpassed China to become Pernod Ricard's second-largest market by sales for the fiscal year ending in June, according to Chairman and CEO Alexandre Ricard. This shift is attributed to a growing affluent consumer base and rising sales of premium brands like Absolut vodka, Chivas Regal, and Glenlivet. Previously, India contributed 10% of Pernod Ricard's global sales, ranking third behind the US and China. However, in terms of volume, it has been the company’s largest market for years. Pernod Ricard’s Indian operations, which include a single distillery in Nashik and 24 bottling sites, generated annual sales of Rs 11.5 billion.
