Curious about what the CampusFM Internship Experience looks like? Check out this footage from our cohort last summer! The skills taught each week align with the interns’ most immediate needs while they are transitioning and assimilating to the job. For example, they are not worried about what to put on their LinkedIn profile at the start of their internship, they are worried about reducing uncertainty and learning how to do their job. ⭐ Congratulations to our Manchester Interns for reaching the first milestone of their 8-week summer internship at Jacobs ⭐ Today they completed their first programme deliverable, giving some brilliant presentations to some of our first year graduates. We’re excited to see how they continue to develop and grow during the remainder of the internship. We’re proud to say that their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas are helping us to challenge today and reinvent tomorrow! 🚀 Special thanks to Niamh McClean, Benjamin Fadele, and Tyler Berks for helping to organise and run our event today alongside Josh Sansom and Noareen Zaidi for their hard work in running the program 🙌🏻

Summer interns - your network is your most powerful long term asset and you should actively build relationships with alumni, other summer interns and working professionals during your summer. You are all programmed to focus on your PPO. Focus also on spending time building relationships with: 1) Alumni in your internship company and beyond - invite them for a coffee to get to know them and get their advice 2) Fellow summer interns from other campuses 3) Other professionals in your internship company and beyond - all these professionals will move on to other companies over the course of your 30-40 year career How do you do it? Send personalized notes to alumni at your internship company / city with a line about yourself, a line about why you would like to meet and a line about some topics you'd like to get mentorship and advice on. Take photos, post them and tag us!

Business Operations Specialist | Implementing Scalable Solutions from Scratch | Optimising Workflows to Transform Organisational Growth
Interns have huge value... ...if you let them! As an elder millennial, I only ever heard of interns fetching coffee and making copies whilst growing up, and that's the impression I think most people of similar age had of internships. Times have definitely changed and thank goodness for that! Yesterday we had our third annual Intern Showcase where several of our amazing interns spoke about the impactful projects they have been working on this summer. These are projects that will really benefit our business and I'm just loving what internships can be when you have a well-structured program that looks to benefit both interns AND the company. Its also important to me that they are given an opportunity to not only share their work, but to be able to build their presentation skills to a wide audience of senior leadership - this is why I and my virtual coffee hour co-chair launched this showcase three years ago. We wanted to make sure that our incredible interns felt supported and engaged with the rest of their fellow employees, making it a valuable summer for everyone. Who else has had a less-than-stellar internship experience when starting out? Do you see the same changes I see in today's internship programs?
