It appears that OpenAI o1 includes 'reasoning tokens' in its pricing. "Most interestingly is the introduction of “reasoning tokens”—tokens that are not visible in the API response but are still billed and counted as output tokens. These tokens are where the new magic happens." I really like where the competition between the AI giants these days is going. As stated before, if you start developing your application now, it’s worth assuming that the quality of the models will improve and the prices will decrease. If you haven’t received the OpenAI email yet, the newest small and cheaper model, GPT-4o-mini, is available for fine-tuning for FREE until the 23rd of September. Interestingly OpenAI is now offering fine tuning against GPT-4o and previous models. The price seems quite low, $25.00 per million tokens, well then you can add embedding to that + data prep + how many epochs before it works as expected + vector store + whatever else you are doing with your trained LLM. #openai #finetuning #ai #llm
