Can you spot the non-alcoholic Rum bottle? 👀 We loved exhibiting at the London Summer Event Show It was not only a chance to showcase our brand, but also our values. As a mobile bar company, we play a part in making people feel included at events and parties. All too often people who don't drink alcohol feel unnecessary pressure from those who are sipping cocktails. And it's not cool. So we put non-alcoholic options at the forefront. Everyone can have a great time at an event, whether it's with or without alcohol. And actually a 'Light & Stormy' is a delicious drink: 1) Grab a tall glass and fill with ice 2) Pour 50ml non-alcoholic Rum 3) Top up with ginger beer 4) Add a squeeze of lime 5) Very gentle stir to mix flavours (to not reduce carbonation of ginger beer) 6) Enjoy! For extra zing, make a homemade ginger syrup and add at step 4. Ps, we love creating mocktails with the non-alcoholic options over at CleanCo. ✌

“The challenge of N/A drinks forces us to deviate back to what we were doing in the olden days, which is [to] make sure you know your shit before you get behind that bar,” she says. “It’s a nice reminder of humble beginnings and putting in work to become experts in your craft.” We couldn’t agree more with LP O’Brien - founder and CEO of LP Drinks and winner of Drink Masters Season 1. O’Brien articulates our sentiments perfectly. What a great Monday read if you have 5 mins... Have you seen a shift in your non-alc cocktail experience in the past few years? Top Tier: Scones are placed on the top tier and are eaten first. Traditionally scones are served warm. Middle Tier: The middle tier is for cakes, pastries, and desserts. As a general rule cakes can be eaten with the fingers. Pastries and desserts are usually best eaten with a fork or spoon. Bottom Tier: Sandwiches are served on the bottom tier. The sandwiches are deliberately small, dainty morsels so there is no need to use a knife and fork. What about the pinkie finger? Do I raise it or not? The simple answer is no. It used to be “a thing” in the 1700s before teacups had handles and were essentially small bowls. Scones: Cream first, or jam? Traditionally, it’s cream, then jam. The truth is, it doesn’t matter. It’s your personal preference. Nor does it matter whether you say scon (as in gone) or scone (as in phone). Don’t cut your scone but tear it into bite-sized chunks. Use your knife to apply your choice of butter/jam/cream to the chunks.

Volume. As a raw material provider, if distillers aren't #distilling, drinkers aren't drinking, and #spirit sits in barrels longer than usual, there will be some significant whiplash on the back end. Consumables manufacturers for the spirit industry (#yeast, #malt, #grain, #nutrients, #enzymes, #oak, etc.) will feel it. I think the ACSA 2024 Craft Spirits Data Project info released recently has yet to be seen by some, so here are a few points worth noting: 1. The US craft spirits market volume decreased for the first time since the creation of this report in 2016. Volume decreased -3.6% to 13.5 million cases in 2023 (versus 14 million in 2022). 2. US craft spirits are losing overall market share. In 2023, the market share of US craft spirits in total US spirits decreased to 4.6% in volume, down from 4.9% in 2022. A lot can be done, from consumer education to federal legislation. Let's hope some investment in this space takes place soon.

Forbes The Wet Martini Could Be The Next ‘It’ Cocktail One of the key factors driving the wet martini’s popularity is the renewed interest in vermouth itself. Traditionally more popular in European countries, vermouth has taken longer to gain a strong foothold in the U.S. market. However, it’s looking like vermouth’s time has finally arrived. The global vermouth market is expected to expand from $7.11 billion in 2023 to $9.64 billion by 2033, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.10%, according to market research firm The Brainy Insights. And vermouth exports from Italy at the end of 2023 already increased by 14.2% compared to the same time the previous year, according to the Spirits Business. https://lnkd.in/dh9GQRVi
