Understanding Sizes of Homes in The Villages, Florida Interesting fact about homes in The Villages, Florida you can find a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home that is about 1,400 square feet or a 1,800 square foot home with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and do they ever feel different. The 1,800 square foot home has more living space meaning kitchen, dining and great room and the bedrooms are slightly bigger. The 3-bedroom 1,400 square foot has a smaller living area to give you the 3 smaller bedrooms. Many of the different models available in The Villages have only slight differences and we have plenty of homes in the 1,800 to 2,000-square foot range and only you can decide if it feels like the size home for you. One thing that will make the home feel bigger is a large slider going to a Florida Room or Lanai. We did that by knocking out a wall that had windows and a 6’ slider and replacing with a 15’ slider. When we open the slider, it gives the feeling of an extension of the home and when entertaining folks can move easily between the two different areas.
